1A Auto Parts says:

You may need to remove the door panel and unlock the car from inside the
door, then you can make the repair to the outside door handle. 1aauto.com

Raquel Natividad says:

The outside door handle is broken on my Honda Accord and the child Lock is
in place, is there anyway I can fix it myself? or must I go to a mechanic?

1A Auto Parts says:

If the latch on the side of the door is stuck closed and will not allow the
door to close, you should be able to use a flat head screw driver and a
hammer and gently tap the clasp that is stuck down back up into place. A
little white lithium grease will help to keep it from sticking. This is
available at your local parts store.

Dek Cutler says:

Hey i have a problem i need advice frm some one that knows, the outside
handle stopped opening the car, so i removed the door panel and the handle
isnt connected to the lock, i removed the gaurd and the rods but a bar
inside prevents me frm pulled the lock out, and now the latch that holds
the door closed is stuck in the down position, how can i get that latch to
pivot back up ??

thankyou so much for this video, saved me so much, took me little longer than
yourself but got there in the end, thanks again

Mexijedi says:

thank you! Honda dealership would have charged me $110 just to see why the
door wouldn’t open, but i did it myself for only the price of the part!

TibebIntlM says:

Thank you so much for a very clear and efficient guide. I was wondering if
you have similar guide to help me fix the same problem when the child lock
is on and the door is closed.

giovanni N says:

open the inside door handle cover. in there you will see a metal rod. pull
this and the door will pop open

Thank you for watching. Have a great day!

Jazmin Quiroga says:

did you ever fix it!?i have that problem ;/

coumputerdude says:

Thank you sooo, much. and I would like to note, that you did a wonderful
job with our video. including the speeding up of the time consuming areas.
I am going to be looking at my parts from your shop. Thank you again.

David Miller says:

Door stuck shut, let the fun begin

Kristopher Nelson says:

Great video. Only additional tip I would add is that on putting the handle
back in, I would recommend two people. One to work from the front to ensure
the black plastic tab slides into place correctly and another to start the
screw. Video was very helpful and this worked great.

1A Auto Parts says:

You could try the dealer, or even you local parts store or auto body supply
place.

1A Auto Parts says:

Here’s a link to them on our website. It shouldn’t matter if it’s a right
hand drive. There are some good pictures too,so that you can compare it to
the one that you have. Hope this helps you out.

do you know where i can buy an outside door handle for honda accord 99. its
a right hand drive car. i bought one from ebay but that one does not fit.
its smaller than the original one

1A Auto Parts says:

@TibebIntlM If the outside door handle is broke, you would need to remove
the door panel and pop the latch from inside the door, so that it will open
and you can make your repair.

All Things Dentistry says:

Fantastic information. Just finished repairing this exact problem –
completed in no time w/ the little tips that you presented.

Andrew Fergus says:

@TibebIntlM that’s messed up…the only thing i can think of, is if you try
an get the door panel off from the inside while the door is closed then use
a screwdriver to open the door by prying it by the outside door handle from
inside the door panel.

Leroy Farmer says:

Man, I watched the video about three or four times and did it myself after
ordering the handle from you recently. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! You
saved me a lot of money!

terracist says:

Great video. I just disassembled by back door to see what the issue was but
you had a few tips that would have made the process easier. Reassembly will
use your tips. Question, where should I look to find a matched paint
outside door handle? My 1998 Accord is the sand/silver color.
