Thanks for the video!

My Honda remote gradually stopped unlocking and would get stuck when
locking. I removed and cleaned the battery, cleaned the contacts for the
battery, scraped all the “gunk” out of the plastic case, thoroughly
washed/dried the rubber pad, and lightly wiped the circuit board with a dry
towel.

The remote now works perfectly.

Correct ! Those rubber are there to protect the micro switch buttons from
getting wet like a barrier , contacts would be inside those buttons , buy a
replacement remote on EBay or honda dealer …

Luke Johnson says:

This is true they are not “contacts” they are buttons themselves. The
actual contacts would be inside the tiny red buttons.

oh okay thanks

Chas Eckert says:

The red rubber is not used for control circuit contact. Each button is a
switch and not activated by the rubber.

Sr. Thank You very much. I was all ready to take our 2002 Honda Civic to a
shop; I decide to look online for help and I found it. Thanks a bunch. God
Bless you and your family.

Worked like a charm…I put a bit of contact cleaner on the eraser for good
measure!

You can get a new one at your dealer. You can also find them online. Find
one that is designed to work for your car. The dealer can set the car up to
work with that fob. Or there are some instructions around on the net about
how to set it up.

If I lose this, how do i get a replacement one?
