Theres too many screws damnit!!!!!! I tried to take the carburetor apart
and this little plastic thing fell to the floor. I have NO IDEA what or
where it was attached to! Any clue? I just want to mow my lawn and not pay
$100 to fix something I could fix myself! this is a nightmare! my lawn is
getting taller by the minute!

Rafael Corona says:

Thanks man for the play by play info. I dont know how many times i’ve taken
my honda apart and put it back together the wrong way. Too Many. . . . . .
. . I Dont mean to sound like a smart ass BUT u did forget to mention the
bigger black hose that attaches to the air filter plate assembly. lol

Menno Hochstenbach says:

Hi, thanks for all the info so far!
I have one question, some lawn trimmer engines have a transparent plastic
bulb that you have to press to fill it up with fuel/oil. Why is this there
or what does it do exactly? And what is the difference in starting the
engine when this bulb is full or empty. Currently, my plastic/rubbery bulb
is torn, is it necessary to replace it? Can fuel leak out of here when
starting/running the engine? Is it dangerous?
Thanks!

Always wear eye protection when working with carb cleaner!

Mike Helms says:

Great video!!
On the carb. When you removed the emulsion tube does it not have o-rings on
it? If not how do you know if someone just forgot to put them in, or do
some carb. Just don’t have them?
Thanks Mike

I find it hard to believe that Joe Mechanic goes through all these steps to
fix my lawn mower. He charges $100 and it takes him 10 minutes. The lawn
mower costs $150. Why can’t you show us the easy quick way way that Joe
Mechanic uses ?

algerdas jansons says:

Should have shown that the mower could start.

Steve Mckennon says:

I have to do the same. Seems that ethenal killed my carb. Gave it two pumps
and it ran for a short while and stops. Local mini motor guy told me all
that new gas and sludge got pumped into the carb!

Valorie Jenkins says:

great job….How do you know when you have a blown head gasket on a
Tecumseh 13.5 engine?

Paul Levesque says:

I liked it, it was interesting

David Reed says:

Very well done video, only a few times did your hands get in the way and
with all you had going on there you did a great job now I can go to the
garage without fear and loathing and put the carb and linkage back on the
mower!

garlicdawg says:

where to get the gaskets….and why U dont wear gloves….?..spraying those
chemicals on your hand….they go into blood…..

bigjilm123 says:

Thanks for this very helpful video without which I wouldn’t have attempted
the job. However you didn’t show us the trickiest part of the reassembly,
i.e., lining up the carburettor, heat shield, gaskets with the air filter
housing and attaching the air hose while refitting the long bolts. All
without damaging the new gaskets you are fitting. This was the most
awkward part of the whole job holding everything in place.

Lee Wilson says:

Thanks for this. I’ve got a mountfield with the 150 engine. Carb is
identical or at least very similar. Engine got over-loaded last weekend & I
think one of the gaskets has blown. just need to find which one. Thanks
again.

Jeff Garner says:

Odd that he didn’t use the red gas shut off valve. Also didn’t mention the
air hose behind the filter that needs to be re attached to the back of the
filter housing.

Fred Garvin says:

After cleaning do you use any lubricant/grease for the internal moving
parts?

tuba myxuan says:

good job
thank you for the video

knotty ash says:

great video thanks

rick latz says:

very instructive video, you don’t need to be a doctor to tell you all of
those chemicals are transferring to your blood systems. do your self a
favor wear gloves

Tim Weatherhead says:

Very helpful. thanks

Jim Marcum says:

good video but I would add. take that air filter box and cover to the sink
for a good washing. I just did one of these yesterday and they will be
covered with grass and dirt. that filter throw it in the garbage and put
in a new one will cost you 5 bucks and keep you from having to do this
again in a few weeks. the filters can not be blown out and if you separate
the filter you will see it is full of grass and seed and whatever but that
will end up in your butterfly valves in your carb and plug you up again.

Antonio Araiza says:

Thank you!
