How to Diagnose and Replace 2001-2005 Honda Civic Rear Wheel Bearings

A quick video demonstration of what a bad rear wheel bearing sounds like in a 7th generation Honda Civic and how to replace it. My original wheel bearings have over 400, 000kms on them and they were starting to show signs of wear as my car’s rear end would start howling like crazy between 50 and 80km/h. The entire bearing replacement process can be done with some basic hand tools and usually takes less than 20 minutes per side (assuming you don’t have a bunch of corrosion holding the rear drums onto the hub). I opted to replace BOTH rear bearings in my Civic, which solved the road howling sounds. My drives are MUCH quieter and smoother. I opted to use genuine Honda bearings because of their exceptional quality. When I scrap the car I will probably yank the new bearings and keep them as spares for my other 7th gen Civic ☺.

Thank you so much for just getting to the point… Wouldn't have ever thought that these would be as easy as they clearly are… I'm still in the process of doing my front hubs and bearings which has now been a two-day project although I don't have a press so it's been a two-day project without a press

Good video but if you’re attempting this, the wheel torque spec is 80 lb. ft., not 100!
