I don’t like how you handle your PCBs bare handed… Not even wearing an
ESD strip. You don’t have to, I know, but when chipping customer’s ecus,
it’s better to wear proper ESD protection.
I have a question… my car I just got as a project has a chipped p28… I
saw this video and checked the socket which matched that indention… the
chip on the other hand is 180 degrees opposite the indent it opposite the
socket… is that correct?

@james Skinner. Chipping the ecu allowes the car to be tuned as well as
change things such as rev limits and add things like launch control. Once
chipped this computer can run (with the respective tune) nearly all obd1

Need to get yourself a rubber matt and a grounding strap. Your luck will
run out someday.
Have you thought about CHROME?
It’s called “Flux”..It allows the heat from the soldering iron to make
better contact with the solder. The Flux’s heat’s up real fast causing the
solder to melt quicker then if you were not using any Flux. Hope this
helped. Btw you can purchase it @ Walmart in the plumbing section or Babes
Ace, Lowes and Home Depot.

to the store and ask for a jumper or is it a resistor…. they look
