See how he tightened the lug nuts using impact wrench at near end of this
video? … I would never let this guy work on my car.

Gary H says:

I have watched several videos on this subject and this is by far the
absolute best, all meat and no fluff, just the way I like it. Thank you so
much.

randy aguirre says:

It would be a good idea to change water pump when you change timing belts.

paul van says:

heat on the rubber harmonic balancer?????? no way. Try the honda holding
tool for the harmonic balancer. The rear balance shaft also has the
ability to be held in time by unscrewing the cap and inserting a .250 x
100mm dowel rod, just like bmw e39’s when you want to hold the flywheel in
place. The front balance shaft has a timing mark on the top of the shaft
which corresponds to the mark on the engine, using white out when there are
timing marks and a dowel rod holder??? really?

Raymond Siu says:

hi, where are you located? can you do this job for me?

Bob Robinson says:

Very good video, I just bought a 1999 Accord and it needs a belt. I am 62
yrs. old and still working on anything from tractors, trucks, cars and lawn
mowers. You Tude videos are better than manuals! Off to the garage for
more fun, sure beats watching TV like a lot of my old fart friends do with
their time!

donx1234 says:

why do you have to take the rocker cover off? can you change the timing
belt without taking it off?

Joseph Murphy says:

We used to have a name for guys like this. We called them primitive Petes.
Never apply heat to a crank bolt. Notice how there is a 50 mm five sided
opening in the area he is stupidly applying heat. That is where the tool
goes to hold the crankshaft still while you apply torque to the bolt. I
just did my Odyssey with an air impact and the correct tools. It came off
no problem. If you apply heat you damage the dampener and the engine
literally destroys itself from vibration. What an idiot.

redneckhippiefreak says:

its a math thing , the length is inhierntly longer and gets longer
respectively giving more room on the PITCH not the diameter. And yes by
going around the bolt it heats both the bolt and the crank that way you get
both. ive used ice to cool off the female if you can then the male

Sudarshan Kirati says:

Who knew you can change timing belt with just one hand!!

blindsided909 says:

98 Accord 4 cyl: Had my timing belt replaced a few months back at a shop.
It now vibrates at idle and only at idle around 750rpm? Just replaced the
Front Motor Mount today with no luck and now with plans for the rear next
weekend. However, I keep reading about the rear balancer might not be
adjusted correctly. Any thoughts?

Cole Cooper says:

You don’t get sarcasm do you?

cars just have to be a pain to work on.

rob0rat says:

Haven’t done a Honda yet, but is there a procedure for setting the tension?
Sometimes on other makes the procedure will be to rotate the crank twice to
even out the tension between each sprocket before tightening the tensioner.

brownthug2b says:
