Odyssey 2000 transmission. I am unable to remove any of the valve caps. I can easily pop off the valve cap clip, but the valve cap only comes out until the innermost step of the valve cap makes contact with the valve body. It will not squeeze through. There is nothing for me to push on, and the valve cap can not be grabbed (unless there is some special tool that I am unaware of. Can anyone help?
just put mine all back together…replaced 1st gear plates and friction disks, Cleaned up valve bodies. Started vehicle and R & P make whiny grinding noise. N, D4, D3, D2, D1 all shift smooth. Any idea where i messed up?

Hi Hiram, I have been following your videos for some time and decided to tear my 98 Accord V6 tranny down and fix it. It had the hard shifts, no shift problems and I have ordered my repair kit. My question is should I replace my torque converter or rebuild it or should it be okay? If it’s bad, is there a way to repair it instead of buying a new one and also, is there a way to test it outside the vehicle? I have already taken the tranny apart so it would be helpful to know. Thinking about rebuilding my 2001 Honda Odyssey transmission. The fluid is not burnt. The transmission does not slip. It shifts late from 3rd to 4th and slams into gear 2nd to 3rd after coasting. Any suggestions? Where can i find the right repair manual and rebuild kit?
Hey I just finished a B7XA out of a 99 accord. I have a small tube 40mm by 8mm left over. Does this go under the linear sol assembly ? I have the ones w/the screens in. This looks like maybe a drainback vent ? Haven’t seen it in the couple Hondas I’ve done so far.
i hve a v6 accord reverse works find wen i put it in drive it has a 3 second delay then takes gear and wen i drive it slips what do you think is the problem cuz all my sensors and good n i already changed the fluid

Hi, I’m having trouble with a B7TA I just rebuilt. Trans Delays into into 1st and gets worse when warm. Cleaned all valve bores with bench buddy’s. verified sol C and Sol A good. Any ideas where I messed up? Trans came to me in a box.

Hi Hiram, Im having transmission problems on my 2002 honda accord automatic transmission(118,000 miles). My transmission slips on the 1st and 2nd gear but the 3rd and 4th gear shift smoothly. The dash does not have a check engine light or a flashing D4 light. Im thinking the transmission is done but just wanted to get another opinion.
Just want to add little info. Superior made a kit to fix blue converter a lot cheaper call Honda LK or sonnax sell the valve already drill so you wouldn’t have to drill the V/B. also on the superior kit you got a new LU spring and spacer also help. The thing I like the most is you can fix up to 6 Hondas with one kit.
I have 2000 Honda accord v6 with 170,000. Last week I had problems with transmission.I had two option either replace it or rebuilt it. Replacing cost less than $2000 depends on the mileage of the transmission from junkyard on your own risk. I decide to rebuilt it which cost me $3000 with one year warranty.Neither i can buy new car right now nor I wanna fix it for that much money .But I have no option to fix it.

I have been doing trannys for 30 plus years. I learned a few things from you here. Great informative video. I have been using the Sonnax valves in these. In taking a good look at this valvr it t is designed to do what your drill trick does. Sharp thinking there my fellow tranny man.

There is a video on my channel on a Honda Odyssey with the P0730 Gear Ratio Error code. Although is from an Odyssey, it’s basically the same concept.
Yes, it is reparable. But the transmission has to come out of the vehicle, since the issue is internal. What is happening is that the filter is restricted with clutch material or metal contamination. Once tha filter is restricted it can no longer pump any fluid to all components and the vehicle stops movung.

Filters are very common to get restricted. The tranny has to be clean otherwise it will clog filter and will stop moving. Is the filter new?

No I clean valve body replace clutches I don’t know it’s working find and when I came home it’s not going back and forward in the morning it’s ok maybe I have to remove aging I here noise some time when change gears around 45km
Did you disassemble the transmission all the way? The drums and replaced the piston O rings?

Hi Hiram I’m take out my transmission aging from 98 accord v6 doing valve body clean and drill a hole lube to converter charge going to do all thing you show me in this video plz also show assembling thanks
Line to lube is a circuit that most tranny’s have but become less efficient as you see on this video. The valve sticks and the line to lube circuit becomes inoperative. On Hondas there are 2 circuits, Line to Lube and Line to Converter charge, Line to Converter Charge is very critical because if it is restricted the converter will starve for fluid and will get damaged. It gets so hot that the metal becomes blue. That’s where the Blue converters phrase came from that we all tranny guys know.
Hiram, what is line to lube? Does that mean line pressure to lubricate the clutch packs/ other hydraulic portions of the automatic transmission? Or something else?
thanks so much for your video Hiram. there is no way i could have rebuilt the b7xa transmission without your help. you were correct the pistons were hanging up so i cleaned and honed them with nylon brushes till they moved freely. the clutches in my transmission did not have any wear on them. when i broke it down there was a greasy sludge all over the valve body. i think thats what was causing some of problems to.thanks again you saved me 1600.00 i rebuilt this thing for 400.00
my 98 V6 accord has 1st, reverse and 4th. can i just change the fluid and add some additives until i can afford a new one? no one around here will fix it for less than 2 grand and the used ones are insanely priced! i dont know what to do.
