Thanks! Hubby needed to see this.

Your DIY videos are great, they’ve helped me a ton. Thanks for making
them! I do have one comment regarding the use of anti-seize. It looks
like NGK is against using them on their plugs as they cause over
tightening. Here’s a link to the notice:

Thanks, another one of your superb How-To Videos. We esp. like the Tool
list, and then the detail you follow to take us through for replacing the
spark plugs. With “not much left on the that bad guy” But then you say, the
gap looked good, and within specks, at only $11 each, I am wondering if we
should change the plugs on the 2006 as it will take 2-3 years for us to get
to 100,000 on my wife’s Element, which now has 80,000.

Will you be changing your accords anytime soon look foward to that

ManClubAustin says:

When I first pulled out the plug, the electrode was tiny – but I’m used to
seeing the bigger “old school” plugs out of a Chevy truck. After I compared
the old plug to the new plug, I realized it wasn’t bad at all…just
slightly oxidized. I tried to show this but my camera didn’t like things
being so close up. As far as changing the plugs early, it’s not expensive,
nor is it time consuming…and it won’t hurt anything. Perhaps you can pull
one out and inspect it. Thanks for watching!

Gary S. says:

Based on our confidence in videos, rather than pull one plug to check, I
purchased four NGKs for our 2006. I had the Gear Wrench (a must IMO);
however, i did invest in a low end torque wrench. After the first plug,
doing one at a time, like you, I found that the blade of a screwdriver
enabled me to gently nudge, tab depressed, the electrical connector from
coil pack. Once started, she came out easy. I watched the video again. The
2nd & 3rd cover bolts came out in one piece, which I will fix.

LucasLand says:

My element is almost 8 years old now with about 65k miles. when do you
think is a good time to replace the plugs?

ManClubAustin says:

I’m a long ways away from 100k with my Accord. But the process would be
very similar.

Great DIY yet again Austin!

vinhhoautoz says:

Rig48, I already got a DIY for the Accords

plugs out and inspect it. But I’d guess that your plugs will be OK for
another 35k. Thanks for watching!
