Honda Power Window Troubleshooting Civic 1996-2000 (with ICU) – Window Regulator Replacement

Honda Power Window Troubleshooting Civic 1996-2000 (with ICU) – Window Regulator Replacement

In this video I show you how I troubleshoot a Honda power window system on an older Civic with an Integrated Control Unit (ICU). There are different technologies used on Hondas but many basic electrical checks carry through to all models. I show some electrical checks, talk about different body control systems used on Hondas, discuss slow windows and I even show the fix for this vehicle which was to replace a window regulator.

The exact vehicle in this video is a 2000 Honda Civic LX sedan.

I'm sorry, but I'm just going to cut right to it because this is a lot for me to take in I'm just trying to keep up and I don't get it lol.
I have a 99 and I'm currently sitting in it at 11:15 at night trying to get it to roll up afraid to leave it down because the forecast calls for rain.. The driver side window starts to roll up and then stops.
It gives me about a half an inch before it stops.. not even enough to grab and pull up on.. I can hear it when it stops too, it makes a high-pitch whistle/screeching sound, almost as if it's getting jammed on something..the Noise is subtle… have to listen for it to hear it..

Thank you for an excellent Video, not sure if you can give me some advice, I have a Honda FRV 2006 model and the three passenger windows are not working, if i check the relay at the under dash fuse box i don't seem to be getting any power when the ignition switch is in position 2. I do however have power on the relay when the ignition switch is off , although it is difficult to hear the relay clicking. Thank you
