Drew Mills says:

I just changed my brakes based on the 2-minute video. I’ve found two
things that are incredibly easy to fix on a car: A/C coolant and brakes.

This video is peculiar to the Honda Element but I can recommend trying your
hand at it, just find your own video. My new brakes cost only $30! Stef
helped me and we made it a couples project for Saturday evening. It took
about 1.5 hour from parking to driving away again. Very satisfying.

Drew Mills says:

Excellent video. Short. To the point. All the right highlights. Just
changed my brakes and it all went very well.

Dan Swerkes says:

You are welcome, thanks for the kind comment

eadoneful says:

Is it worth it to remove the rotors and have them turned?

Dan Swerkes says:

Yes, this process should be the same, it’s the same on most cars and
trucks, very simple job as you can see from the video, Please post a follow
up on how your brake job went. don’t forget to pump the brake pedal before
your road test. good luck, Dan

Thank you for making a simple to the point video without all of the verbal
diharea that most other experts seem to have. I now know how to change my
brake pads.

Michael Gelman says:

I got past the moving letters now. The video is EXCELLENT. Clear and
concise. I feel ready to change the brake pads on my 2009 Element . . . .

Dan Swerkes says:

Only if they are warped, does your steering wheel shake or pulsate when you
stop? If so you may need to

Dan Swerkes says:

this is my opinion. 1st, you should buy genuine Honda pads, they will save
you money in the long run, 2nd, this job should take 2 hours if you take
your time, “remember safety and keep everything clean” 3rd, when you’re
done you will have the satisfaction of knowing the job is done right,
because you did it, and you will save around $150.00. Be sure to check out
my other video, how to change your transmission fluid on my page

Dom T says:

Awsome video. I just bought a honda element 2008. So I’m assuming this
would be the same exact procedure for my vehicle? what about abs type
brake?

Dan Swerkes says:

Should be the same for all of them, I think all of the Elements are abs,
This was performed on a abs system. Good luck

Enzo F says:

@XYtruck25 Regardless of whether one front wheel is on the ground or not it
should be relatively easy to turn. If not: start car, turn wheel, turn off
car.

Luneleger says:

Is there a video for replacing the rotors? Thanks!

A Combs says:

Can you explain the piston tool part of the video I’m sorry to bother

1buckdharma says:

This is great! Is it the same for 2006 Element?

Michael Gelman says:

The very first seconds impressed the heck out of me! Do you suppose I could
convince you to tell me what program you used to create that effect?

irishenvy4 says:

would the process be the same for a 2006 element? just want to make sure
before attempting myself

Dan Swerkes says:

What you’re doing with the piston compressing tool is pushing the piston
back into the caliper slowly and evenly , good luck

Timpala44 says:

I’ve got a 2006 EX-P. How much money do you think I would save doing this
myself? Just a ballpark estimate. Also, how long does it take to do each
one?

XYtruck25 says:

nice clear video. Thanks. Questio: When you removed the drivers side tire.
Then your turned the wheel to work on the driver side brake. Did you have
the passenger side front tire still on the floor? Would that be hard to
turn the steering wheel with one tire still on the ground?
