Good write up my man, the tq specs on the 2 10mm bolts on the compressor are 7.2ft/lbs btw so 7 opposed to 8 is probably a little bit better if you want to add an annotation (Pulled from the service manual 🙂 )

Larnelle Heron says:

Very informative. Having the same issue on a fa5 in the Westchester area.

Liebe Dich says:

I read somewhere that the clutch might not be engaging because there's not enough freon/refrigerant/R134A in it. Is this the case? And if so, should I first just try to add refrigerant before doing any other diagnostics? I'm saying should that be the first thing I do if the air is running warm. Or should I first check to see if the condenser clutches are engaging/spinning. And then add freon?
In other words, even if the clutches are not engaging should I first add freon before trying to get them engaged. Because the lack of freon might be the cause of the clutch not engaging? I have a 2006 Honda Civic.

Anthony Alford says:

Was your problem it cutting off and off after warm up? Mines fine till car gets hot then it disengages n wont come back on till cooled down. my pressures are fine no leaks n it blows really cold on startup.

plzz help i need mine fixed asap

Christopher McNerney says:

I have an 07' Civic SI and need to change out mine. Can you send me the link for the compressor & kit you ordered?

Thanks in advance!

Chris Varns says:

Is there a separate video for the expansion valve? I dont know how to get to it without cutting part of my dash behind the glovebox

Josh A says:

What brand was the ac compressor and the condenser?

shawn dpenha says:

Thanks for the video! I am about to tackle an Acura CSX tomorrow and expect it to be similar!

Wilfred Díaz Vellón says:

l rather take the bumper off and the a/c condenser and the radiator will make much easier to get to a/c compressor.

Lewis Evans says:

Good video, but you left out the most important details like telling the people to make sure that before attempting to replace the compressor that you need to recover the refrigerant!

Brett Donati says:

Did you put in the valve or the other pieces that came with the compressor?

Mike w says:

helped me alot…thankyou

TheCapi246 says:

how did you evacuate the system? Like how did you get the freon out before doing this?

I'm thinking of tackling this project soon.

Brandon Giovenco says:

Hi gerb, I am thinking about buying this civic si just like yours but owner says the ac was removed. Is this compressor all I need for it to work? Im hoping just the compressor was taken out. Why even take the ac out for lol.

Arianna Nunez says:

Hey Gerb, do you have a link to the compresor?

kushal prajapati says:

Man just a quick question for ya. I just bought 8th gen si, has injen intake. Car runs great but the problem im having is from the AC. Whenever i turn the fan on it gives me a hissing sound & it goes up as the fan speed. What do you think it has?

Did Lavoie says:

Hey gerb I have the same problem with this it makes a loud noise near the compressor like the beering or something this friday id be looking for a new one and change the beering of it i was wondering was yours making a sound too ?

c f says:

How was the compressor and ac after replacing it?did your car shake while idling with the bad compressor?

Omar Chisolm says:

it should tell u the right amount of oil umder the hood on the catalyist for each and every a/c component along with how much freon it takes to completely fill the system. look for the sticker under the hood.

marcus alcala says:

Cool to see your channel grow.

HondamanFG2 Vtec says:

One hell of a vid my man! Very informative and you got A LOT of the job on film. I am happy to see you do things the rightest way possible.I think your problem will be solved. Reason I say this is because you mentioned the compressor you took out had barely any oil in it. Good luck and I hope it works out! Love the vids!! Keep it up!

Hightime5 says:

Should be good to go…

James Smith says:

I think you got it beat now bro, great video. I'm going to change out my A.C. compressor using your vid. Great info.

Hugo Matsubara says:

The compressor that you replaced (Sanden) was original for the Si, not everyone comes with Denso. At least here in Brazil, all of them came with Sanden ones. Denso only on R18…

Cory Manka says:

Wow nice job

Todd Sundstrom says:

Hey man where did you buy the compressor ?

Rho Main says:

I hope this works!

David Vlogs says:

Finally have the confidence to change mine. Thanks!

Gianni Adduci says:

Very good video. How do you normally find out the proper amount of torque to use in the bolts? Do you look online?
