When I hit the gas my Honda accord it pop’s in trans then takes off ….It
is also a hard shifter I ‘v been the only owner of the car I got in new and
its had this problem from about 35000 miles till now 130,000 HAVE NO IDEA
WHAT IT IS !!! I HATE IT TO I COULD NEVER RACE IT with the pop it trans

Caleb Noonan says:

Can someone please explain why would I do the drain fill drive x 3 method?
That doesn’t make sense, why would you drain and fill it three times? If
you do that, then what, after 100 miles each 3 times, I’m good for next 90k
miles or what? Just purchased an used 2002 accord ex coupe and I don’t like
it at all. Needs a lot of work, and I could tell that it’s hesitating and
shifting little hard..Maybe it’s just me. I’m deaf, I only can tell by the
feelings and the odometer displaying.

Bianchi Sanremo says:

$25 buys you a pair of 3-ton jackstands at Walmart or Harbor Freight.
Bricks are not safe.

Jeff Kennedy says:

so just how much quartz of tranny fluid did you refill the honda with?

Franco g says:

when you said kick as hard as you can, i didn’t actually mean you will do
that but then i saw you doing it n i was like ok, well that will break it
up even more then i saw the sledgehammer then m like ok, he mean business.

jose20673 says:

My 2000 accord does the same I went to get new tires at leswab guy told me
that clunk noise mite be your motor and tranny mounts

Yama Bushido says:

there are so many thing that you should NOT do in this vib

gtilapias says:

thanks for your video!!!

hunter tawney says:

How does someone report on HONDA if you go down this page you can clearly
see honda has a problem Honda transmission’s seem to need to be
recalled!!!!!! RECALLED RECALLED RECALLED I mean hell if someone pays
$28,000 and up you would think they could get a reliable car one that would
last !!! Dont you think so as well??

SonofGodly says:

try using a breaker bar, you are teaching others to hurt themselves kicking
with your bare foot . you cant change the filter because its in the
trans, bad design. But you can get more inline magnet filters on ebay. Those
trannys are not made to burn rubber ,You will ruin your torqcoverter or
something else in the trans.

thweepz says:

my trans fluid is dark but not that dark. barely any metal shavings on the
magnet for 150k miles at the time. my fluid is red though and on a paper
towel it is pink. thats healthy right?

Josh williams says:

Maybe if you had shoes on that would have worked alot easier lol I’ve done
that before too hurts like a bitch

Komeng Her says:

Anyone tried a different ATF brand besides the Honda stuff? JW

Lujuzr . says:

When any car is cold the idle is high which causes a shake when shifting
gears. Is like changing from neutral to drive with your foot on the gas
pedal accelerating a little You’ll feel a shake cus you are telling the car
to move even before putting it on gear.

thweepz says:

you taking the drain plug off had me laughing my ass off. more torque LOL

thweepz says:

my 99 accord I4 kind of does the reverse clunk. only when the engine is
cold. that can be due to your motor mounts usually. but it was rather
violent. i hope your trans is good!

CharlietoKind says:

I agree, especially the fact that these V6 Accords and 99-02 and some 03
odysseys didn’t have the best tranny. I bought this car at in May of 12 @
122,000 miles. From the color and the smell of the fluid, I agree the
previous owner has never changed it. Currently I have 139,900 miles on it,
and I have done this “flush”/change 5 times. It has not slipped once! We
also own a 2003 honda odyssey that tows at it max 3500 lbs reg. and at
180,000. we have never changed the fluid! (my parents van)

Usermaxism says:

Try lucas transmission fix, did you change the transmission filter ever?

CharlietoKind says:

not sure where the transmission is located on the inline 4 accord (ive
heard on the passenger side), but there will be a 3/8 (square) bolt you
take off just like shown in the video. You should buy 3. A tip of advise,
make sure you can get the atf fill bolt off or make a funnel for the
transmission fluid (“the redneck way” ) before you break open the drain
fluid

Bryan Ramirez says:

Its just your tranny going bad, same thing happened to my ’00 accord

Addy Adderson says:

Dude, you may be doing this the redneck way, but you’re pretty darn good at
making an instructional video. Good image, good commentary. You may be a
natural.

CharlietoKind says:

Not sure what could be causing poor acceleration, that sounds like an
engine problem. (spark plugs/wires/gas etc.) Do NOT flush honda
Transmissions, you will knock loose several small metal bits that will not
come out and will clog the transmission fluid holes controlling the
pressure. the only method honda recommends is changing the fluid every
90,000 miles (normal schedule/non severe) or drain, fill, and drive and
repeat 3 times. good luck

CharlietoKind says:

i use 3 new bottles of honda atf every couple hundred miles

Danny Ramey says:

i have the same car and issue i think it may be our motor mounts or tranny
mounts

listens2glenn says:

“usually too late” is exactly right.

MagnusShortwave says:

me too lOl!

Carashai Coleman says:

THANKS FOR THE VIDEO YOU SAVE MY COUSIN LIFE

2SHOTDAVE says:

lolz 3:54 misses and kicks pan. shit got me dying!!! anyways, thanx for the
great vid my dude! getting a 4 banger Monday, hopefully its not that
different.

krazer41510 says:

lol @ kickin the ratchet… lol.. just use a cheater or breaker bar… but
uhmm… yeah… that tranny fluid was black as fuck… usually too late…

Vijay T says:

same problem, did the same thing and same results!

dojo says:

Cinder blocks like a red neck, ghetto funnel like a black guy and you’re
Asian. Now you just need to invite a Mexican to give you a wash n wax,
haha. Kidding bro, great video I loved the kicking part the most.

ddk80 says:

Great Video! My only recommendation is use a 3/8 flex handle (breaker bar)
to loosen the transmission bolt. It will save your socket wretch from
damage to the ratcheting mechanism from all that torque being applied.

ChillerMethod says:

Thanks for the tutorial man! My 00 is getting the DIY treatment this time
around

Gerardo Gaytan says:

Never Use Bricks to Hold up a car smart one…. they chip and break easily..

John Kenneth Frivaldo says:

I just replaced the spark plugs and all of them looks bad after replacing
it runs normal now. I will try it tomorrow morning when the engine is cold.
And when I check the transmission fluid using the dip stick it looks good.

Robert Mannifield says:

On the 2nd and 3rd cycles, do you use new tranny fluid each time or what
you put in the first time around?

Martin acevedo says:

Did your transmission slip in anygears?

Nana Nhep says:

Your vid helped a lot no bullshit just got straight to the point

listens2glenn says:

usually too late is exactly right.
