Hey Honda quit being jerks and not make your lights so hard to change
sheesh p.i.t.a.
When I saw this video I thought it was going to be easy-peasy! I drive a
2005 Honda Accord and let me tell you it was hard getting to all the
lights, both my low and high beams on the passenger side went out and it
was a pain unscrewing the little screws that kept the lights firmly
secured. But alas, I did it (!!!) and with the use of this video- thanks
so much for sharing!!!
Overall Good video. To make it better you could have explained which way to
twist the bulb out as your arms blocked the video at that point.
It’s easy to pry back a portion of the wheel well liner by popping out a
couple rivets. The the rivets come out easy and go back in easy. You only
have to pry back the liner towards the front of the car. Just make sure you
get your wheels turned to the opposite side you are working on. You will
have a direct shot at the bulb and not hard to get leverage. You can find
videos of this easier method. 🙂 Much less aggravation. Trust!

Funny how much more difficult the owners manual makes this. On passenger
side: pop the hood, twist it out, and disconnect the wires. How easy can
you get.

Thanks…it’s possible with slender arms from under the hood…. Definitely
need the battery out on drivers side.
I just reached in from under the hood on both sides. My passenger side was
in so tight I had to use a 2 foot piece of pipe and a rubber mallet and tap
it to turn it sideways then I was able to pull the light out of the socket.
On the drivers side, I disconnected the neg battery wire which gave me
ample room to reach the plug. It turned and came out easy. I put in the
Sylvania SilverStar High performance lights. They were a tad bit brighter
than the original lights. They cost $39. Not worth it.
One more way to get it replaced. I bought from Dealership, and jokingly
asked the sales girl, Oh its free replacement right ? She goes yes, bring
it in. Haha, the guy went through wheel well, but it was left side.
Tomorrow I have to get right side done. I’ll try again for free
replacement. If not I’ll use your technique. Screw wheel well. Btw,
dealership was cheaper than auto parts source. Could be because I am
Canadian. We don’t have too many options here. Check yourself. Make calls.
Good video but you really spent way too much time and effort taking the
battery out and stripping your knuckles. Taking 2 fasteners out and pulling
back the inner fender, while not convenient, is much easier and more
straight forward.

I found out on the 2000 honda accord you don’t need to take the battery
out. Luckily it’s much simpler, just take out the black plastic piece in
front of the battery (duct?) and then you can easily reach the light,
It is easier to remove 2 clips from the drivers front wheel well and just
remove the bulb. Takes 1 minute. I work at a Honda dealer and I do it
everyday. I have never removed the battery. Is hen you do you have to have
the radio code .
Please add bulb on your title because it matters.
+EpicReviewsHome I had a 2003 accord and the 9006 bulbs twist right off
with very little force. I am surprised it was so difficult. The 2006 has
the same headlights.
Very helpful video. I was initially afraid to apply too much pressure and
thought I would have to remove the screws. Additional hint to make the
process easier is to remove the connector from bulb before trying to turn.
Replacing the left side headlight bulb is easier to do if you remove the
battery instead of following the manufacturers recommendation of removing
two clips from the left fender cover then pushing the cover out of the way.
You have to wear rubber gloves to prevent the body oils from coming in
contact with the glass of the bulb. The right side low beam bulb is
considerably easier because there is nothing in the way of the bulb. the
total time to replace both low beam bulbs is approximately (1) one hour.
WARNING: This does not work. There are three screws, factory tightened,
that hold the bulb assembly in place as strongly as if it were welded with
iron. You will have find a way to remove those screws.
