Sam Cotts says:

so yeah i wouldnt recomend reseting your check engine light this way. see
the thing about the check engine light, is that it lights up when there is
something wrong with your engine and it needs to be checked. sure you can
unplug the batery and reboot the on board computer but whats going to
happen in 15 miles? the fault is going to trigger and you will be back
where your started. christian it looks like the reboot you did on the
ocmputer caused your fuel injector timer to loose its sync with the engine.
so the computer is sending fuel to pistons that are not due to fire. i bet
that you had horible gas milage and almost no power to go along with that
idle right? lesson learned? if you dont know what your doing take your car
to a professional. you could have ended up with a bill for a brand new car
at the end of all this.
