what size are the washers?

Bao Nguyen says:

My local dealer charges my 14 v6 for 50 bucks synthetic oil with free car
wash.

Milford Civic says:

Thanks for the DIY. I don’t even bother changing my own oil anymore because
it’s cheaper to have the Honda shop change it for $30…..and they wash my
car too! Anything else though (tire rotations, brakes, filters, tuneups,
suspension work, coolant, etc) I’ll do myself…because that’s where they
get you in terms of maintenance costs.

i have Honad Accord 2013 v4 , i can’t find OIL LIFE when i push the button
!!

A few questions. Can this be done without jacking up the car? When
removing the oil filter, does oil drain out and get on your hands?

automaniac85 says:

how many quarts does our accord need ? 5 or 4.5 quartz ?

Quinn Askew says:

Thank for video.I was half way thru the oil change and got mixed up on wich
way to
Loosen the oil filter you saved me time and a headache! Thanx again.

Paul Dzhur says:

Amzoil gerantees its 100% synthetic oil up to 25,000 miles. So if you
change your filter (I use Wix filter) every 5,000 miles you will refill
about half a quart of oil due to oil drained when changing filter. If you
keep doing that the oil gets renewed and you may have to change the oil
only every 40,000 miles or maybe never. I just started using amzoil so I’ll
see how it goes for me.

googlyahoo says:

Nice video, but two things are a must:

1) Pre-lube filter before installing. This will prevent “dry startup” with
an empty filter which tends to kill the main and connecting rod bearings
over many oil changes.
2) For your own health and safety; WEAR GLOVES before dealing with used
engine oil.

Thanks for the informative video.

Paul Brimhall says:

Excellent video. Great that you are using the PureOne oil filter. The two
best filters are the Mobil-1 M1-110 or the Purolator PureOne PL14610.
Honda OEM filters are not nearly as effective at these. The AMSOil filter
is also very effective. Mobil 1 synthetic engine oil is also a good
choice. If you really love your car, you may want to consider changing the
filter ONLY 1/2 way through the oil change interval (if you do lots of city
driving). Industry experts say a cold start is the equivalent of 500 miles
of driving–something to think about.
I also appreciated that you showed how to reset the oil life indicator.
Thanks.

Danny Cao says:

im soo glad you do videos like this for the honda accords

Gwace says:

Very useful thank you. However, for the 4 cylinder sedans you will need a
ratchet with a special extension in order to get out the oil filter.
Because there is no room for turning left or right with a regular oil
filter tool.

Hi, you are so nice to share all these videos. I really appreciate it. But
my humble request can you please show us how to change break pads and
rotors. Thanks a lot.

ABRA KADABRA says:

I’ve heard its good to add some new oil to the new oil filter and letting
the oil filter soak up some of the new oil; before installing it back to
the engine. Reason, they say that; cuz it helps the filter fill and have
fresh oil faster on start up that way it doesn’t take as long to fill the
filter and circulated through the engine. And keeping the engine lubricated
better on that first start up after draining and changing the oil. So I’ve
heard

What’s your take on Honda Genuine vs. Aftermarket oil filters?

Mark I says:

Another awesome video! I have an identical car, but a 2014. It’s my first
car ever and your videos have been really helpful. Keep it up!

When do we need to change the transmission CVT oil since there is no dip
stick to check. Also, how many miles or % oil life show on the gauges to
change engine oil (Someone says 15% or 7000 miles)? How’s different fully
synthetic or not synthetic miles to change? Do you know how’s Accord
calculate the % of oil life by miles calculated or oil condition with
sensor?

8822xxx says:

Good Job! Thanks for your post. I got the same i4 EX-L. How much for your
oil change including oil and filter? I got my dealer deal with $33
including tax (I live in LA). I am thinking change by myself or take to
dealer since the oil for 0w20 is really expensive. Someone told me they
will start the engine couple second and then check the oil level is much
better. Cuz some oil will get in the oil filter. Is it right?
