hi, is it normal that my steering start to shake, like the way u describe at the beginning of the vid, even i changed it 2 years ago? i cant start checking everything because i cant park my car anywhere, only on the street. meaning i dont have that free space to work on.
Thanks for this video it got me in the right direction. I spent 2.5 hours trying to get the bolts off the caliper bracket with my wimpy 3/8 drive. I spent $35 and bought a breaker bar (1/2 drive 15″ handle) and the bolts came off in 2 minutes.
yes I took the rotors off and took them to a machine shop to get resurfaced
I do have 2007 HONDA Civic, mostly when i brake i get the squeaky noise from front. I have changed the pads & even the mechanic told rotors also ok. But still the problem is there? Hackweek can you help on this??

I do know what I’m doing and it’s ok to use old pads if there’s not much wear on them, which was the case here. If you feel there’s a need to teach people otherwise, maybe you should produce a few videos.
If you change disks, you change pads, the fact you are showing people to use old pads is wrong. If you don’t know what you are doing, do not do tutorial videos.
if i’m gonna replace pads and rotors at the same time, what’s the right order? Rotors first, then pads?
i was struggling with the rotors until i saw your simple suggestion for turning the wheel to get more room to get a breaker bar in there. thanks!
what if the 2 small screws were not put back on?? Like if they brake off due to rust, that should not be a bad thing should it ????
I have a honda civic like yours, Could you please let me know what additional part or bolts do I need to dissasembly to replace the front wheel hub bering “ONLY THE BEARING”…I know I have to remove all what you did in this video plus the center hub nut….but what else??? also I understand I will need a hydraulic press to take out the bering front the wheel hub. Please let me know and thanks in advance
i did my brakes about 3 months ago, now every time i brake i get the squeaky noise… anybody know what it could be?? the pads are still new, and its coming from the front?? the noise is only when i brake
would it matter at all if when i replace the rotors the pads that it has are not so new? like maybe a year older like in your video?
I got a question hack I did the exact same steps as you and some how I’m getting smoke coming from my brakes and I have no clue what’s wrong I checked it out a second time and everything seems good but I don’t know why its smoking Help please? Anyone?/:

Hey do you have a video on changing the rear drums?
you are suppose to go in sequence on tightening the lug nuts so I recommend doing tht and the torque specs
y would u always pull the e-brake? its not nessary to pull it every time you park it jus keeps the cable adjusted if its a manual u can put it in 1st if its a automatic it has a parking paw tht ketches in the tranmission to keep the car from rolling.
Thanks, hackman for your your useful tips, particularly the turning the wheel to better approach the back…I wondered if you ever ran into 4 wires in a brake pad replacement box (from a dealer); I can’t figure out where they go…They’re approx 3 inches each and somewhat U shaped.
@hackaweektv if i get rotor with out the screw holes is that bad or it doesnt matter the rotors are sport rotors

Ha! There is a tire with a rim on it under the car, the parking brake is on and even if the floor jack somehow failed the car would only drop about three inches. Yes… jack stands are a good idea.
JACK STANDS!!!!! What you are doing is dangerous. You should take this video down and re-do it with jack stands. If you have an attorney, he will tell you the same thing.
Yeah I hate when they do that. Unless there is a leak in the brake system (which should be repaired as soon as possible) you should not keep topping off the brake fluid as the pads wear and fluid is displaced into the caliper pistons.
When prying the callipers apart it’s a good idea to ensure that you are not flooding the reservoir, especially if you are dealing with really worn rotors and the driver is keeping a good eye on their fluid levels.
They should be similar to these brakes.

I remember doing the rotors on my car back in the 1980’s. My father was freaking out. He forgot that I did a lot of work on cars in a local garage.
