I’m getting ready to splice the inlet heater with a coupler tee from a
radiator flush kit. I was glad I viewed this video as it confirmed what i
guessed to be the heater inlet hose. Got confused by it being called a
combination of everything under the sun. Thanks a bunch for posting!

Luis Arbaiza says:

good video but I think it would be better to replace the all hose. Check
the V-tech valve (silinoid) while you are in there right on top of the hose
nipple it tends to leak too.

I have a 97 prelude sh and was wondering if you could post a video or
picture of where the air hose connects to from the intake. It is by the
throttle and there is three nipples.1 is capped, the middle one (not sure
where it goes) and the third one goes some where by the cruise control. It
would help a lot if you could show me where the middle connects to. thanks

What’s the gloves for lmao

Cool. My Prelude just developed exactly the same problem. not sure i’ve
seen those connector inserts for sale in the uk but I’m about to give
google something to do.

deepdiver1101 says:

how did you know it was bad? i have a leak i cant find today i was filling
my coolant and i saw some leaking from behind the motor. does this sound
like it could be the same problem?

vbmark520 says:

A good video for a field repair but the hose should be replaced as it has
reached its service life. Honda can get you the hose, part number
79721-S30-900 for about $22.

obriennola1 says:

Thanks bro. This worked beautifully on my son’s 2000 accord ex. I had a
leak in the exact same spot but I couldn’t get to the other end of the hose
to replace it entirely. With this idea I didn’t have to.

wolco003 says:

Same problem on 99 civic…Napa has replacement hose 14 bucks…probably 3
times the price of your fix…

Orlando Garcia says:

Thanks for this video bro, my heater hose on my 99 prelude had a pin size
hole in it and it was spilling everywhere, it empty out all the
anti-freeze, I went no pepboys, autozone and a few other auto stores but
they don’t have it so I’m gonna do what you just did. Again that’s for the
vid

bikerflyguy says:

Thanks for posting this vid! I have a 94 Accord that had a cracked heater
hose right where it hooked to the engine and your vid really made it
possible for me to do it myself. Amazing how a video can be so much help
with repairs like this. I rebuilt my hose just like you did and it worked
great! I would have never known how to remove the air duct work and such
without your help. Thanks again!!

fixitfanatics says:

@jsanbr Thank you and good luck to you! 🙂

MegaEugene555 says:

Great video! Question, did you have to drain you radiator coolant? I have
exactly the same situation, that I will try to fix myself. Thanks in
advance.

jsanbr says:

Great Idea about rebuilding the hose! I am going to do the same thing on my
civic. My hose cracked on the same place as yours did. Great video and
Thank you for sharing with us! Cheers!

strumpeteer says:

First of all thanks for sharing. Second, why didn’t you just the new
flexible hose all the way to the heater core or heater valve? You will
eventually have to replace it anyway and it would eliminate having to use
that coupler.

kushlude says:

Thanks! A friend and I did what you recommended to a torn hose on my ’97
Prelude and it worked perfectly!

YoungInn G says:

Would be more efficient if you guys did close ups but thanks though

SolarSanction says:

Do you have to drain the coolant first?

Luis Ortega says:

DO NOT PUT THOSE PLIERS ON TOP OF THE BATTERY, YOU ARE ASKING FOR TROUBLE
