In this video I replace the engine and automatic transmission in my sons 1999 Honda Civic. Personally, I don’t see this as a difficult job, especially if you’re fortunate enough to have a lift. Even if you don’t have a lift, take your time, keep your fasteners organized, and you should be fine. You might also consider taking pictures along the way as reference so that you get everything back the way it’s suppose to go. Even with that, you might have to improvise like I did in this video.

I had my old 99 engine taken out and replaced with a fresher 97. I think it's still only 200, 000 K. Runs great leaks some oil out of the oil pan.

I have a 99 honda civic and there's a problem where my rpm reaches the line in between 3 and 4 and begins to like stall or rev then when I break and come to a complete stop it starts to rev and stall or it'll shut off whats that mean?
Idk, I would call Charles the Humble Mechanic and ask him to help you pick up some 10 year old VW for your son. Clearly, these are only slightly less labor intensive than 25 year old Hondas but should have less rust, more powah and be a lot safer in a crash.
