1998-2002 Honda Accord Windshield Wiper Motor and Linkage Transmission Diagnosis and Replacement DIY

In this video I diagnose and replace the wiper linkage/transmission on a 2001 Honda Accord. If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments.

I purchased the new linkage/transmission on Amazon: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00412UK6C?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00

Thanks for watching.

I have a 99 Honda Accord EX 4CYL 2.3L and my wiper blades smack hard on my front diver side window at medium to high speeds. Would this be my motor, linkage or something else possibly?

When my blades are not in the intermittent mode they slam hard on the down stroke and on the upstroke they stop in random places sometimes going past the windshield and other times approx 3" away from the end of the windshield. Do you know where I should start looking? Thanks

diver dave says:

i bought the new rack from A-1 auto for $55
it looked exactly like the 15 year old one – it was easy to replace and worked great
* use thread lock on the nuts that hold the wiper arm on the rack – I though i had them on tight butt on wiggled loose.

dreamliner1977 says:

Thanks for posting! Question, was the aftermarket linkage OEM Honda or another brand? I've read on some forums that you can usually get away with just replacing Rod Unit A (the top linkage).
