Very detailed thanks

Do I need to disconnect battery

Steph A says:

Not sure what the ft torque is but perhaps you assholes can tell people that they're bolting in aluminum here and to take it easy on the tightening. Replacing the upper manifold is A LOT more work than replacing the thermostat. To be honest, anybody that want's to do a proper repair check elsewhere….these guys suck, except for maybe replacing door handles.

Black Obs says:

Yo I removed the housing and my truck didn’t have a thermostat inside

The Mandalorian says:

Do you have to absolutely bleed it ?

joseph puchel says:

Hey it’s a nice video but the important part you left out. The housing is aluminum what’s the torque spec for the bolts. If someone were to tighten bolts down with a 3/8” ratchet it would go on tighter then someone using 1/4” ratchet. Torque specs are best.

Tom Talamantez says:

Got one that will not warm up and the temp gauge will only get to 120f at most. Last week I had a leaking heater control valve. The gauge was working then cause it would go 240 then back down to 200 until i could get it home and cooled down. I grounded the gauge wire and it pegged 260, so I replaced the sensor. Still nothing. I also recently noticed the radiator cap has no pressure when I open it under warm conditions, after a 10 mile test drive. It’s about 50deg outside. Would a sticking thermostat cause a “no pressure” issue. I checked the oil, I has NO sign of antifreeze in it. Thanks in advance.

Lyle Lafayette says:

Hey guys, real quick- Have 2001 sub 5.3 1500. Replaced radiator and stat same time.
Is it possible for aftermarket stat to not open ALL THE WAY?:)? Heats up at idle, fine while driving as if slightly blocked…..

Luis Sonoma says:

Do you need a gasket for the housing or the RTV silicone gasket maker. Or is the rubber mounted to the thermostat good enough?

Mr. Nobody says:

Yet another helpful tutorial. A + Rating.

SIRBULLPLUME says:

I have a 99 where will the thermostat be located on it?

Jack says:

No need to torque the outlet?

S Vhshshs says:

he forgot to tell the Knuckleheads outhere make sure the radiator is not hot when you take the radiator cap off
