Thats great, nice job, glad I could help!
Replaced the failing alternator on our 2004 Suburban 1500 yesterday. It was a snap thanks to your clear instructions. Thanks!
Do all the rest of the gauges work correctly? If so then there might be a separate fuse for the gauge, but usually its all on the same. Otherwise taking the dash off and taking out the gauge box is easy and you can see if something is making it stick. Otherwise its possible to just replace the whole gauge box from one at a junkyard.
Hey RykerDane I have a 2006 yukon denali and the speedometer is stuck on 120 mph is there any thing I can do to fix it or would I have to take it to a mechanic to get it fixed?
What city is this in?
You are welcome! Thanks
Great video! Works just fine for 2004 Suburban 1500.
Thanks man. This video was awesome. I was in a pinch and have to mechanical abilities. Your instruction was right on. I fixed the vehicle in 40 minutes and was on our way again. Great work.
You are welcome! Glad it helped you out!
Very, very much appreciated. I applied the same steps to my ’05 Silverado. I really appreciate you spelling out what wrenches were needed upfront. That saved me beaucoup time not having to go back and forth to the tool box. Thanks again!
Yes it should be very similar.I don’t think there is much different on an escalade.
Will this procedure work on the 2002 Escalade 6.0 lq9
No problem! Glad it helped!
Thank you so much dude
It should move one way or another, so you can release tension on the belt to remove.
my tension pulley is not letting up…
You are welcome!
great video….helped alot…thanks
No prob, glad it helped! Its always easier to see it done first.
This was a great video. Thanks for making it, it saved me a lot of time. Had to change mine out yesterday.
Thats great! Yep its always better when you do it yourself so you know it is done right. thanks for watching!
After I wrote this, I saw your other Videos. Then, I went and replaced the whole Tensioner, and the AC compressor belt, thanks to your Videos, It was easy! She runs fine, now.
While away from home the Tensiner Pulley had melted, and shreded the belt. I had only replaced only the pulley, and later the new belt came off on the highway, and being a Sunday evening, I had to be towed home. Thanks to your videos, this unemployed man can do it right, this time, himself.
Great! Glad it helped!
Thanks. I just wanted to see how that dang tensioner worked, so, I came to your video, I knew you could help. Ive never seen a tensioner like that. Thanks!
Thanks, I will check it out!

nice videos
Yes it is really close. Maybe just a few things shaped different, but its only 2-3 years or 1 model off this design. Thanks for watching!
Is it safe to say that the gist of this replacement would be the same as replacing one on a 2000 Silverado truck? Battery, belt, bolts and wires.
Alright thats great! It was easier than you though wasn’t it. Glad to save some money for you! Nice job, and thanks for watching!
Thanks so much for this video. This morning I replaced the alternator on my 5.3l 2004 Suburban in a light rain with no problems other than dropping my wet tools. I’m not much of a mechanic so I also really appreciated you giving the socket sizes on everything.
Thank you so much for the input. I hope it helped and made it easier. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Clear instructions. Well edited (fast forward). I like how you said the size of each bolt. Overall, you did an excellent job. Many thanks!
Thats awesome! Glad you were able to fix it yourself and save some money and time! Thanks for watching!
I have limited to no experience under the hood, but was able to watch this video and completely replace my Alternator (with no extra parts, lol). Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Great video! Very detailed. Thanks !
I will do so… I was also told that I could run an additional Ground from the ground wire from the block to the Frame to get a stronger ground. Thank you for your help…
You could also get a voltmeter and read your electronic fuse holes in your fuse box to see which ones are drawing more amps. At least test the ones you suspect are the problem.
Thats great! At least you figured out what happened. Yep wiring in different systems can mess up the electronics, if not done by someone who knows what they are doing. Sometimes those stereo shops have high schoolers installing that may only know the basics of hooking up systems and cut wires or by pass some important stuff they shouldn’t.
I took my truck to a stereo shop a few years back and they messed up. So I think you right, I may have to take it in to a shop to check the wiring. I pulled out all the old wires and I set my vent controls to Inside air OFF. It did help a litttle…. At the time I got my stereo installed, the Fog light didn’t work and they had to fix them back. I think that had something to do with it.
For sure… I will let you know tomorrow when the stereo techs get a hold of it. I will most def share the results with everyone! Your a life saver… Thanks again!
I have a 5.3 and I did get the right amp alternator. I had a after market stereo system installed and it had a ground wire issue. I kept hearing the Buzzing high pitch sound through the radio. A person told me it was more likely to be a ground issue. And then i read your email and said the same thing to look for… So tomorrow I’m going to a trusted stereo shop and hope they find the ground problem or at least at a ground to fix it. Right now I disconnected my battery just in case…
