mecanicman66 says:

use an air air pack gun dude are you a real mecanic or not i know i use my
air impact it works much easyer

William Campbell says:

@irwle It’s a c-clamp with a cup for pressing out ball joints. you can get
entire kits with many cups for different size ball joints. just look up
ball joint kit on google shopping.

drew hood says:

screw the breaker bar 1/2” impact wrench

stainshield says:

OR JUST BUY CRAFTSMAN

Bill Beaulieu says:

a breaker bar and what he uses is different. a breaker bar is a long peice
of metal with an attachment at the end for (usually 1/2″) sockets. what he
uses is a pretty much a metal pipe to put over the handle of the ratchet to
get leverage. even if it does fuck up the ratcheting action, craftsmen have
a lifetime warranty so you can go into any sears store and get a free
replacement no questions asked

juleisherrr says:

hurry up in your fucking clips

Delta10666 says:

Great video but shame he never showed this tip/tool on the FWD car ball
joint video! I bought this tool myself and must say it really IS as easy to
use as shown here. It’s rare and a bit pricey (£100) and seems to be only
on ebay. MADE BY: NEILSEN! Ebayers won’t tell you that in case you buy or
order elsewhere! Like Nathan says you’ll almost certainly want a breaker
bar or cheater pipe. Great tool and no wishbone removal needed!

Isley Rodriguez says:

Thats not a ball joint. Its a bushing.

olpmmone says:

Does anyone know how to replace the Dilthium Crystals on a 2021 snow blower?

Garras Porgratix says:

The only one you cheat is you since you bust your ratchet. Use a breaker
bar instead. its more robust. Or better yet, don’t be cheap and borrow an
impact gun from your friend.

sl9grrl says:

You can bust your c clamp press with enough input force. Better to torque
down the ratchet handle by itself, then bang on the LCA with a sledge. The
vibration will loosen the ball joint slightly and you can get another 1/4
turn on the handle.

William Campbell says:

@Me112233 Some breaker bars do ratchet. You can get them with handles
between 18 and 40 inches usually. Either way, a long or extendable 3/4”
drive ratchet would work just as good. I have a 40” 1” drive ratchet and
breaker bar. They say you should always have the right tool for the job,
but people still use dinky 3/8” drive ratchets for everything. (and I
usually use hand tools since I don’t have a garage and work outside; too
much money to invest for something I don’t need.)

theexpendable11 says:

dude everyone has a cheater bar. hell i used a 7/8 wrench as one earlier

Tony Toni says:

Your videos are clear and straight to the point, I appreciate your time
sharing with us… trust me you have helped my husband help a lot of people
who were n need but without a lot of money. Praises to you!

melvin finklesteen says:

isn’t borrowing an impact gun from your friend “cheap”? lol I don’t see how
saying that could be used in defense or being “cheap”.. a better way to say
it that would actually make sense would be, go buy your own tools and stop
being cheap by borrowing mine… just sayin.

pancakewafflebacon says:

tried this today on a ford… broke the damn breaker bar lol

efrg50 says:

not everyone has the luxury to have an impact gun so that is a real
mechanic showing people how to do it Keep it real and thanks for the videos

NippleAuJus says:

Shouldn’t you have started with setting up and explaining the press parts?
Everyone knows how to use a ratchet silly boy.

Garras Porgratix says:

If it was made to be a breaker bar, they would make it longer, ya think?

Lillie1986 says:

Goodie we have hydraulic tools for this.

Jimmyt61 says:

use a Air Gun

blarson12 says:

A proper way to press out your old ball joint? lol.

danielh35 says:

I heated mine with a blow torch and tapped it with a hammer right into
place. easy

drew hood says:

yea but i can always make another drive screw and re-tap the C-frame, it
only takes a few min

417cameron says:

In this clip

Garras Porgratix says:

Yeah, shitstain. Saves lots of work. Lets you quit fucking around and you
can get to other jobs quicker which means more money. Something a poor
little bitch like you will never understand.

Rob King says:

cheater pipe??? more like breaker bar…

12vctdpower says:

impact gun? dumbass

Jimmy Crackcorn says:

Stop buying cheap ratchets is the solution there; a breaker bar doesn’t
ratchet so you’ll be constantly reorienting the bar. It’s not cheap, it’s
practical: not all ball joints are conducive to getting an impact gun into
the proper orientation.

pyro8818ak47 says:

when you buy ball joint tools it reccomends not using impact cuz the
threads will last longer

drigotechbras says:

those expertvillage clips doesnot teache much…sucks!!!

Max Janatsch says:

Nothing is explained about a setting up the press…

zebrazedflicks says:

+1 if you’ve gotta use a lot of force, use a proper breaker bar. otherwise
you’ll fuck the teeth on the ratchet drive.

Juan de la Cruz says:

i know exactly what you mean…we DIYer sometimes borrow tools from
Autozone or Partsource in Canada as their loaner program and it take a
while till you get used to the tool. If not setup properly the ball joint
tip would wobble since it’s loose already and it could get pretty
frustrating. This guy did not explain the most important part.

Me112233 says:

@southernrebel2384 Actually, no. A breaker bar is longhandled tool with a
socket fitting (typically 1/2 inch) on the end. Breaker bars have no
rachet. A “cheater” as he was referring to is actually just a stray piece
of pipe that is slightly larger in bore than the rachet handle . . . he
slides the pipe over the handle, effectively extending the length of the
rachet handle. The problem with such technique is that the added torque can
over-stress the rachet mechanism and cause it to break.

wafrederick says:

The older Chrysler products, the ball joints screw out out of the upper A
frame with a special socket.

irwle says:

Ok I saw the ratchet very clearly, now I need to see that other tool, was
it a clamp? And it was already installed before the video. Now how do I
know what tool to buy to remove the ball joint?

Craig Anthony Nicholas says:

Thx. I just changed my driver side lower ball joint on my Mountaineer. The
press tool did not have the right size receiving piece for the top so I
used the beams from my jack stands and the topmost press piece to get it
done.

butdoyou says:

Looks like blood on the rachet head…..yikes

Kirk Cameron says:

0:50 I have the same Craftsman socket driver that this dude has and the
instructions say don’t use a breaker bar with it. It’ll fuck up the
racketing action. Who knows…

southernrebel2384 says:

cheater bar..aka breaker bar

Mike Fu says:

Pussies…just punch that bitch with your big manly gorilla hands!

Jim m says:

thanks for showing how to set up the press…..

infantry2021 says:

Having trouble with my 1982 Chevy C10 Lower Ball Joints, anyone have any
experience with that type of year and model?

one800blackman says:

Nate you’ve the end of an otherwise informative video. But right now, it’s
piece of sh!t. What happened to Part 1, you know, where you select a cup
and pressing plate, and actually assemble the thing? All I’ve seen here is
55 of 59 seconds on how to turn a screw. Tighten this up. I know you can do
better than that.

melvin finklesteen says:

of being “cheap”…***
