I have the same board smithdmit is referring to on mu 89 chevy silverado. It’s much like the board on the s10 blazer, long and rectangler so the square type wiper boards won’t fit. The five pin conenctor is the same however. You cannot find a replacvement board for this style anywere and it’s not talked about much. When it is no one offers any useful advice. Does anyone know the original Delco part number for board I’m referring to or know of a replacment that will work in it;s place?

1aauto says:

The issue is most likely going to be with the switch or the control module.

I changed my wiper motor.the old one had common probs of wipers not turning off when they are suppose to.but they did work on high and low speed. With the new motor. they dont go as fast on high as they should. It seems like some times they go fast but then slow down.I dont trust it. because in a major down pour/they would not be fast enough.any ideas as to what the problem is?

1aauto says:

It could be a bad wiper motor.

skwashua says:

Went on a trip today, wipers worked fine on the way to my destination, however on the way home they wouldn’t work. When I attempted to turn them on it has a slight buzzing sound, but no movement. I’m assuming this is the wiper motors needing to be replaced.

After I turned around they started working again, however I’m worried about getting stuck in the rain again.

1aauto says:

You could try a new set of wipers if you haven’t already. Sometimes as the rubber on the blade gets old, it will cause more drag which could slow them down. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

I installed a new wiper motor in my 90 c 1500 and it now shuts on and off when i want but it doesnt seem like the wipers go as fast as they did with the old motor.Any Idea why that would be?

1aauto says:

It might not might you application.

I have a 1990 silverado.I think my pulse board is shot. but the one I need is the rectangular shaped one.I cant find part anywhere.I was thinking of buying new wiper motor that looks like one in video. My question is. will it work?and does it include pulse board modual?

Darren87aero says:

The pulse board is behind the black cover under the hood when looking at the motor, its an easy swap.

1aauto says:

There might be an issue with the linkage or wipe motor. You may want to check these to things out.

GCUE BEATS says:

I have a 98 GMC Yukon & I get the same sound when i turn wiper switch on but the wipers dont move. Sometimes I get sound and sometimes I dont, what could this be?? What should i replace??

1aauto says:

You could see if it was possible, but it might give you more room and be easier if you remove the wiper motor. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Rob Heathers says:

I get this buzzing sound from hell when I try to turn on my wipers, and I was told it was a bad pulse board… If I just need to replace the pulse board in the wiper motor cover do-hicky-thing (I’m a car guy, but not a mechanic), do I actually have to pull the whole motor and disconnect from the wiper-arms? I just want the wipers to work and quit growling at me when I need them on (but end up having to pull-over).

BEAUTIFUL THANK YOU!

1aauto says:

You might have a short in the switch causing everything to turn on at the same time.

Hi I have a 1984 chevy k10 and recently replaced the wiper motor and pump and now the two wiper speeds and mist all work good but they won’t shut off! So currently I am just pulling the fuse when i don’t need them on but it is very inconvenient, could this be the lever on the steering column? Thanks in advance!

1aauto says:

You may want to get a new switch and put all of the wiring back to the stock specs. That should help to eliminate any cross wiring that you might have going on.

CogCommander3 says:

i have a 91 1500, and my wipers are hooked up to a toggle switch because when i got it the arm to control it was broken. The wipers go on and off whenever they feel like it unless i open the hood and push down on the plug going to the motor mechanism. Would i just have to replace the module inside of it and it will stay on? or will i have to replace the plug with the wires running who knows where?

1aauto says:

You may want to check for a loose wire or possibly a loose ground somewhere.

tiddleygibbon says:

the windshield wipers on my truck turn on most times and seem to turn off whenever they want to, do you think it is the switch that is messed up or maybe the wiring needs to be replaced

ChevyGirl530 says:

Really wish I had watched this before changing out my motor and not knowing what I was doing. Would have been much, much faster and correct. Put the crank arm on incorrectly.

1aauto says:

You may want to test the switch to see if it’s working correctly.

hilreal says:

Have a 1998 C1500. Wipers only work part time. Could it be a switch or relay? I thought it was the linkage binding but I lubed them and they seem to work ok manually.

1aauto says:

It could be the switch, or if your vehicle has a module to control the intermittent wipers it may be the module also.

This was awsome I was going to take it to a mechanic and he was going to charge me $150.00 parts and labor. Thanks to this video I just purchase the part for $49.00 and did it myself. THANKS for saving MONEY!!!!!!!! :) I will be back if I need to fix n e thing else on my Chevy!!

1aauto says:

When you place the wiper blade on it adds resistance. Check to see if the post that the wiper attaches to spins inside of the wiper arm. If it does then you would need a new wiper arm. If the wiper transmission doesn’t move with both wipers on, and nothing turns, then the wiper motor may be worn and in need of being replaced. Hope this helps you out.

Justin Combes says:

I have a 1993 Corsica and the driver side arm quit working. Could the problem be the transmission connection to the wiper motor or just that the arm was stripped. The arm works with the blade off. When the blade is on the driver side wiper arm will not work. Any idea of what the issue is?
Thanks!

Eric Ver Linden says:

I have a 1999 Hyundai Elantra GLS, I know this video is for a different car but, the intermittent speed on my wipers doesn’t work. The two other speeds work fine, just the intermittent speed. I was wondering if that speed doesn’t work, is that a sign of a bad motor? If not, what else could it be?

gofarit says:

Hey that was good info

1aauto says:

You might be able to find one in the salvage yard.
