The end of the harness will be located inside the door panel. You will have to remove the door panel to gain access to the end of the connection.

Tylerwhofishes says:

My 03 suburban does not have the harness so to speak. It appears as if all the wiring goes directly into the mirror and then down into the door panel. Its a 2003 Suburban with z-71 package, power heated mirror, power folding with turn signal and puddle lamp. Ordered mirror from yall just needing some help in locating the end of the harness.

We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows this particular repair. We do carry complete mirror assemblies on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

cobaltfireguy says:

Any chance you have a video or can send a link as to how to replace the mirror motor?

1aauto says:

Some people have attempted to reuse their existing mirror caps and some have succeeded and others have broken the tabs off of the old one trying to get them on.

kent dobkins says:

you mentioned painting the back of mirror. can you swap out the panel with old matching vehicle panel?

ljl1234567 says:

FYI a little grease in the 10mm socket will help you not to drop the bolts in the door.

1aauto says:

We do carry some of the mirror glass only as a replacement depending on the options that your truck has. We do not have instructions on how to make this particular repair though.

vinnerzzz says:

Hey thank u very much for this good video!

I just only want to replace the mirror is that possible? do u have a clip of that?

Thank u very much.

1aauto says:

They may not be interchangeable. We do sell them with black or chrome caps on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

jewllake says:

you can also carefully pry the old mirror cap off and swipe it over to the new 1a auto mirror or replacement mirror. they are held on w/ 3m double sided tape.

1aauto says:

We currently do not have an auto repair video of that particular repair.

How about a 2010 Nissan Altima?

mikenougat says:

I wanted to post to tell the folks suffering with the long harness that goes down into the door. Don’t remove the door panel, just splice right at the top of the door access. It is only 5 or 6 wires to wire together. Easier than removing the entire door trim.

mikenougat says:

Thank you very much, you guys are the best!

1aauto says:

The 2007 is the year the body changed over but it should be relatively the same where you need to remove the door panel to access the bolts.

MrMdbling says:

can i do the same on yukon 2007?

1aauto says:

This should be similar to the Envoy but it may not be exactly the same. The bolts holding the door in might be slightly different than the Tahoe’s that is shown.

B1acken3d says:

Does this apply for a 2005 GMC Envoy?

WiLL HoLLa says:

Love ur vid’z dude helps out a ton!!!

Brian Richards says:

I have a 2006 Chevy 2500HD. Will this type of repalcement work on a non-powered telescoping mirror? Thanks.

1aauto says:

We carry the whole mirror assembly for your Nissan Altima. We do not have just the mirror glass available to us. Here’s a link to our repair video on YouTube, that will show you how to replace them. YouTube.com/user/1aauto?feature=mhee#p/search/0/Nw4oEOVKKQQ

MrAflictedAnarchy says:

Can I change the mirror itself on my 01′ Altima?

1aauto says:

Thank you very much it’s greatly appreciated. Have a great day!

scalhotrod says:

Got it, thanks. That’s what I was afraid of, but it won’t be the first time I’ve had to be creative in fixing a GM product.
I really appreciate all of these videos. In the future I will be checking your site first for any parts that I need!

1aauto says:

We currently do not have an auto repair video on that particular year Tahoe. You may want to try to remove the mirror to see if you can get at the plug from the top (depending on the location that you need to reach it at). If it’s up inside of the door you might have to reach up inside to try to get at it. Hope this helps you out.

scalhotrod says:

Help! I have a ’98 Tahoe with the long harness. I removed the door panel per your other video, but I still don’t know how to get to the plug. I can see it, its just too far in.

1aauto says:

Thank you for checking out our auto repair video. Here’s a link to these mirrors that we sell right on our website 1aauto.com, we also offer free shipping in the USA! 1aauto.com/1A/Mirrors/GMC/Yukon/1AMRP00002

COYOTE165A says:

Are these mirrors a dealer item or can i pick one up in a junk yard, & how much do you think they go for.?

1aauto says:

You should be able to separately wire in the signal option. You would just need to find the signal lead inside of the truck to enable the option.

1aauto says:

The heat option may need to be wired in separately in order for it to work.

dosumfuntome says:

i have a 99 gmc sierea 1500 i was given take offs from a siverado 2500 w heated mirrors will the heat work if it was not on my original ones

mrtandaman12 says:

I have 2010 Chevy Silverado. I was wondering if I could replace my factory mirrors (they are not tow mirrors and do not have signals in them, aren’t power folding or power heated) to mirrors just like they are now but with a signal in them? how far into the truck would i have to go to get driver and passenger side mirror signal working?

1aauto says:

Yes starting in 03 or 04 they have leads that go down inside the door.

kenman1717 says:

great vid. but what confuses me, i have done tons of these mirrors at the dealer i’m at and i always have to pull the panel because the harness for the mirror is always way down inside. they are never that short. or course maybe its because i only do it on like 05-07 classics. oh well very informative.

1aauto says:

Swapping the plastic is possible but can be hard without damaging it. Also depends on the mirror you buy. Some are made like the original and the plastic swaps over, some attach differently so swapping is possible but you may need to use an alternate fastening method. Not sure about the clip, it was only a device used to help on the assembly line, once the three nuts are on the clip does nothing. Mirrors with signals have a diff harness, you’d need update the harness.

Brodderick Freeney says:

few questions…could the little color matched plastic piece be swapped from one mirror to the othr, can the clip from the original mirror that hold it to the truck be transferred to the new mirror, and also is it possible to directly swap a mirror with the turn signals to a yukon that didnt have it originally?
