that belt is not new oh i get it they just showing how
The tensioner will self adjust to put the correct amount of pressure on the serpentine belt.
The only question I have that didn’t get answered is: After installing the belt, how tight do you tighten the tension bolt?

You’re welcome. Have a great day!
Thanks man. I don’t even work on cars and I know I can put this thing on now. You’ve saved me money I don’t even have.
tanks amigo!!nice and clean job!!
All cars and pick-ups have a tensioner now-days. Serpentine belts got us away from all the v-belts and such.
The belt tensioner on this vehicle automatically provides the proper amount of tension on the belt. Usually when they need to be replaced the belt will squeek due to the tensioner starting to fail.
so if it has a tensioner you dont need to tighten the belt to a specific spec?
its your tensioner
The belt may be bad, or the belt tensioner itself may need to be replaced.
Reply quick please: My belt is squeaking really bad in my 97 blazer, i put a shut ton of belt dressing on it, then tried wd-40, then soap and non of them work! My belts not that old either and doesn’t look worn..wtf is my problem and how do i fix it thank you.
You’re welcome.
I didn’t see the hole for the ratchet. Thanks!!!
It has a serpentine belt tensioner with a pulley on it that adds tension to the belt, so that you do not need to tighten it. It should be on the front of the motor near the top.
Tensioners I mean
Ok thanks, I never knew that. So what vehicles don’t have pensioners?
On this vehicle it has a serpentine belt tensioner that automatically adds tension, so the tensioner will adjust with the belt. Hope this helps you out.
Don’t you need to test it out for like 5 minutes to see if it needs to be adjusted?
Thank you other car!!
goooooodddd!!
This is awesome. You just saved me so much money. 🙂
We currently do not have a video of these two repairs. A Haynes manuel should show you the oxygen sensor locations. We have them available on our site located here

Our local Fastlube wanted $150 for this little piece of brilliance. I bought the belt for $20 and, after watching this video, got the job done in 20 min. I would say “thanks a million”, but I think “thanks $130” is more appropriate!
Yep I enjoy helping anyone, whether you just want an idea of how a repair goes, or you are experienced but want a refresher before going in to a repair, so you can save yourself some time.
No problem!
