I believe you’ll find you have a bad ground. Those light housing circuit boards are notoious for failing.

Check the turn signal bulbs first to see if any are burnt out. If there is a burnt out bulb replace it. If you still have an issue it could be a bad brake light switch or a bad turn signal switch. Make sure the wires coming off of the brake light switch are not frayed and touching metal creating a short. Hope this helps you out.
i have a ’96 k1500, i have tail lights sometimes but when my headlights are turned off and my driving lights/day runners are on my turn signal works fine until i press on the brakes. once i hit the brakes my turn signals speed up and my rear turn signals change sides. ex: left turn signal normal speed, hit the brakes, front turn signal fast flashing, rear RIGHT turn signal fast flashing. i dont think it’s a short because it only does this sometimes so would it be the switch or a short?

I worked on getting the airbag for an hour. it would help to show how it is retained and describe the “slot” a bit better. show what you were pushing on after it is out. The rest of the video is great.
If you can see where it is suppost to go an connect to, there has to be a clip or something that holds it in place that may have worn out.

You may want to check to see if there’s a piece of debris stuck in there.
It wasn’t working correctly.
You may want to check the bulbs to see if the filaments are burnt out. If could also be an issue with the switch.

The turn signal switch on your 1993 S10 should be different than the one shown in the video. It may be a different process to remove it.

It is similar but there is a difference between the two dash boards so the install might be slightly different. To see if the switch is the issue or the motor, you will have to test the connection at the motor to see if the motor is getting power. If there is no power, there is either a issue with the switch or the wiring.
