Great video. When reassembling, if you take the three bolts out for the door striker/latch, you can connect both rods from the outside of the truck, then reach inside the interior of the door opening, position the latch striker back in place and put the three bolts back in. By doing this, you relieve the tension on the door rods, making it possible to connect them before positioning the handle in its opening.
If you take the door panel off, there may be a nut at the bottom of the door that has come loose.
My 1996 Sonoma has this same type of handle but one of the two screws has come out while pulling the handle each time. It fell down into the bottom, is there a nut that holds the screw to the handle ? The left screw is still there, but I need to get this fixed now. I don’t see those 2 bottom screws you show in the video on the arm rest.
It would be different on your application.
thank you, but is the same procedure correct?

Thanks very helpful.
We currently do not have a video on this particular vehicle. We’ll keep this in mind though, if we need to make this particular repair in the future.
can you demonstrate this on a 08 denali right rear exterior passenger door?
It seemes to be some type of vinyl that covers the foam on the arm rest.
ok i got a question not really related to the video exactly, but look at 6:45 the door panel, do you know what type of material is the arm rest made of? is it vinyl? what about the top right corner piece is it vinyl too? i am asking this because i want to paint my door panel of my s10, they are alittle old and the color is fading. thank you
Thank you for checking us out.
Hey I just wanted to thank you for all of the videos yall do! As a college student working to pay for and go to school extra money is hard to come by especially with the economy we are in, your videos have saved me and I’m sure many other people soo much money and I just wanted to thank you for taking your time to make these videos for everyone to use.
how similar is this method to that of a 1999 chevy tahoe?
Thank you Mike Green! I love your business model. Your years of experience really shows! I’ve learned so many great tips from watching. Keep up the good work!
Yes it is the same idea but specifics will be different such as removing the door panel and how the linkage hooks up.
