My question is!! Are the Front Calipers done the same way???

Scott Amoroso says:

Hi Mike, if you are only replacing the one rear caliper, I saw that you
seemed to have success just bleeding that one side. I have heard there can
be problems with ABS systems though. What sort of things would require a
scan tool activation of the ABS for proper bleeding? I have a Phoenix brake
bleeder, which can either push fluid up to the MC, or suck it down to the
caliper. Which way would be best to avoid ABS issues? I was thinking
pulling it down to the caliper is better.

1A Auto Parts says:

Brake fluid will come out.

KillerZero259 says:

what happens if you were to run the master cylinder dry? and do you need to
bleed the brakes on all 4 sides or just the side where the caliper was
replaced?

Donald Bain says:

Nice and easy 🙂

matthewXL says:

what i meant was if you replace only the right caliper…do you need to
bleed both sides. i know ill have to bleed the one caliper like you show in
the video. but should i bleed the left side? will air bubbles get to that
side…thanks Mike

Mike…do you need to bleed both rear calipers if you only replace one side?

1A Auto Parts says:

We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows you how to do
this. If you have a Haynes or a Chiltons manual, they should show you how
to perform this repair. We sell the Haynes manuals on our website with free
shipping. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

@Cattachmore22 Thank you for visiting our YouTube auto repair channel.

what happens when they leak

1A Auto Parts says:

Pulling the fluid through the system would be best. Forcing fluid back up
will most likely cause and issue with air getting trapped in the
distribution block or the ABS pulse module.

1A Auto Parts says:

@279spirit An 07 Suburban would more than likely be a different procedure
than the one shown.

1A Auto Parts says:

You would need to find out what is leaking first and replace that part.

i got a leak from a honda accord 2001 does this mean i need to replace the
brake caliper or is it something else

Rami Srour says:

how do i change the rear caliper on a VW Passat 1999 mod. ? its broken and
it just leaks break fluid whenever i refill.. i need to change the caliper
and bleed all the calipers i heard.. how do i do it ?

1A Auto Parts says:

The safest method would be to bleed all the brakes at the same time. This
way it ensures that all the air is out of the system. A bottle of brake
fluid is cheaper than a potential accident from the lose of stopping power.

1A Auto Parts says:

If the brakes seem fine once you replace the brake pads, you shouldn’t have
to bleed them. If they are very soft or hard, then they may need to be
bled. Hope this helps you out.
