Price for a pair of shafts for 2003 sierra 1500 Z71?

1A Auto Parts says:

If it tends to dart to the side when the brakes are applied, you may want to check the brake calipers to see if they need to be replaced. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

BioGenocideSCD says:

Ok. Can you tell me what would make my truck hard to control over rough road? It seems to want to go left or right easily especially when braking on rough road. Is this something that bad CV joints would cause?

1A Auto Parts says:

You may hear a thumping noise while you’re driving, or maybe even a popping noise when you turn. If you can move the axle up and down quite a bit, it may need to be replaced. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

BioGenocideSCD says:

What are signs of bad CV joints?

1A Auto Parts says:

They should be similar. You should be able to apply some of the basic steps shown in this video to your application. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Steve Weber says:

Are both sides similar to change and would a 1500 Silverado be like this. Thanks

1A Auto Parts says:

If only one has gone bad you can change just one.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may be able to apply some of the basic procedures show in this video to your application. We currently do not have an auto repair video on that particular year. We’ll keep this request in mind in the event that we need to make this repair in the future.

mjones6115mj says:

Would this replacement work on a 94 k1500?

shack willmake says:

quick questions do you have to change both cv joint axles are just one
thank you

Joseph Upali says:

I wann a say thank you 1A Auto – for this video

1A Auto Parts says:

You should torque that nut at the correct torque setting. It’s a matter of safety, and your hub bearings may wear prematurely if the nut isn’t torqued right. HarborFreightcom carry’s decent tools that do not cost a great deal of money. You might want to see what they have. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

austin giboney says:

is it bad if i dont torque the hub nut cuz i dont have a torque wrench

Keith Krauss says:

Can I expect a similar process on my 05 trailblazer? Thank you

1A Auto Parts says:

It it’s a 00-07 then it should be the same or very similar.

Fck Irak says:

will this work the same on a z71 silverado 1500 ? i thought i had take the upper ball joint lose from the spindle or whatever

Chris Bryant says:

very good video awsome

1A Auto Parts says:

You should need to to gain the clearence.

jhertz67 says:

its it absolutely necessary to take off sway bar bolt? is there a purpose or make it easier? mine looks stripped and i don’t want to deal with it.

1A Auto Parts says:

There could be several things going on which could include the springs, wheel bearings, or something to do with the sway bar links.

This is a great Youtube channel and a great video, I have a 2001 gmc sierra 5.3 sle 4wd and my truck has been making noises when I turn the wheel to the right. Its making that “old spring mattress”noise when i crank the wheel and my truck makes a sqeek noise when i drive at 20- 40 mph, almost like the brakes need to be changed, but i already replaced them. What should I do? thanks

1A Auto Parts says:

Thanks for checking us out! Have a great day!

stupidstt says:

It really depends on what the hourly rate of the shop is.

TheCollegeguyman says:

How much should something like this cost to repair at an auto shop…

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to check all of the suspension parts. The ball joint could make a popping sound if they are going bad.

David Zamora says:

I have a “popping” when i steer my 2002 Silverado could these be the culprit or is it the ball joints?

1A Auto Parts says:

You may be able to apply some of the basic procedures shown to your 98 Blazer.

Wendy Marty says:

Do you have a video showing the driver side shaft? Can I replace it in the same manner as this on a 98 Blazer? I am told the driver side shaft has a retaining ring that I can just pop out and pop in a new one. Am I way off here? Love your videos. Thanks!

1A Auto Parts says:

Normally you can tell a CV joint is bad when it has a lot of inside play. The issue could also be the Differential bearings inside the axle itself. Removing the front cover will give you a good idea of what is going on internally.

Bill Martin says:

How can you tell the difference between a bad front differential and/or it’s bearings and a bad CV joint? I’ve had a low growl that gets worse with speed. I’ve replaced both front HUB assemblies and taken out both CV’s, but they don’t feel bad. If you’re holding one in your hands, how can you tell one is bad?

1A Auto Parts says:

It could be the u-joint in the axle or a wheel bearing.

El Shaddai Painting Inc. says:

hi I have a 2001 gmc sierra and the left front axle is making noises, what is it?
just the bearing or the differential problem
