Helpful video , I couldn’t see where you insert the 3/8 drive .. lol so I
couldn’t figure out how to get the tensioner to move .. after that its a
piece of cake .
THANKS! You are correct. My Sierra is a 6.0L V8
On the larger engines, there is a belt for the A/C compressor and there
another for the other accessories as well.
How about the small belt below the serpentine belt? Is it the timing belt?
I have a 2006 Sierra. Thanks! Great video
Thanks, keep’m coming. I’m getting alot of good information, that I can use
on my 06 Silverado 4X4, same engine, same body. Yesterday the clock turned
over 35,000 mi. Bought new, and have driven 5X round trips from Florida to
Connecticut. That alone added 15,000 miles to the clock. Runs like new.
Plenty of towing power. Beautiful machine.
wow! realy good info. great video. I changed my serpentine belt and ac
compressor belt today. 🙂
The steps that you saw in the video are going to be exactly like your S-10.
They did not make many changes to the 4.3L Vortex engines for many years.
i hope its so easy on my 97 f150.
Thanks for the vid – could not see where my tension pulley was when I was
looking in my `99 Silverado (have replaced them on a few vehicles – Astro
van being the hardest – but was always able to SEE the tension pulley,
right off the bat) but I could not see it on my truck and was baffled. Mine
is hidden by the ductwork to the air filter; which means I will have to
take that apart to get down to it. I was expecting to need a buddy to pull
on the tension pulley, but it looks rather ez on this one
Great video, now I know how to do what needs to be done. Saved $100.
Thanks for the great video. I have a 1991 S10 with this engine that needs a
new serpentine belt, which I assume I can follow your instructions in this
video without a problem. Does the tensioner require a certain amount of
torque?
