Another good one, Thanks

Waylon Moar says:

ok so my actuator is still good. I changed my shift cable but both weren’t
the problem. The hose that connects to the back of the actuator is sucking
the actuator in. I thought when the actuator is sucked in, its engaged in
4×4. Is there a reason the actuator is getting sucked in after I start the
truck??

Barry Wuthrich says:

My 2000 S10 blazer does that. There is a vacuum switch on the firewall
right in the middle, up top. This is where the other end of the vacuum hose
from the actuator under the battery connects. I bypassed the switch by
connecting the two vacuum hoses on the switch together and my blazer went
right into four wheel drive high or low. The electrical connection to the
switch seems okay, so I’ll be looking at buying a new switch soon.

Zack Mcbride says:

i have a 97 s10 and it is stuck in 4×4 and when you push the button to
engage into 2wd it clicks about 5 times and nothing happens. it just stays
in 4×4. any ideas?

1A Auto Parts says:

It could be this actuator, or there may be a vacuum leak somewhere in the
system. You may want to check all of the vacuum lines for a leak. Hope this
helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

pontiacgrandprix85 says:

i’m wondering with this video if this would be my problem when i accel
quickly and let off the gas i get a horrible grinding sound like the 4×4 is
tryin to activate itself and when you come to a complete stop you get a
loud clunk sound and it stops the grinding. i think i’m losing vacuum
somewhere which is moving the 4×4 cable

1A Auto Parts says:

You may have an issue with either the transfer case motor not engaging
properly or the transfer case itself.

1A Auto Parts says:

If there’s enough room to wiggle it out, you might be able to.

place and on slight hill in 4 high it rolls back but not in 4 low any
suggestions? Thanks

Ryan Umberger says:

My 2001 chevy blazer 4wd does the same thing and i checked the actuator and
the pin that connects to the wire on the actuator was rusted

You’re welcome. Thanks for watching. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

1A Auto Parts says:

The 1999 actuators are located next to the axle.

1A Auto Parts says:

You could be. You may want to start with the simplre things first like
checking the cable.

1A Auto Parts says:

Tt should be in the same spot since the vehicle is essentially a S-10
Blazer.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to check the Vacuum actuator shown in this video. Also check
the vacuum lines for a leak and the shift actuator.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to check this actuator shown in the video, if it’s good you
may also want to check for a possibly vacuum leak in the vacuum line.

Gooter16 says:

Where is the actuator located on a 1997 Oldsmobile Bravada?

secondghost says:

Awesome! I drive a 98 Jimmy. Watched your video, went outside and replaced
the actuator with no problems what so ever. Took me about 30 – 45 minutes.
Thanks for the video.
