That should be fine.

Robert Gries says:

IF I dont have a rubber mallet can I use a piece of wood and a hammer and just hit the piece of wood to tap the alternator into place?

Frederick Mayo says:

You guys are really helpful. My car would be dead without you. Furthermore I would be broke.

1aauto says:

Thanks for watching. Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

u guys rule all of your videos are very helpful saves me money from having to take it to a mechanic

1aauto says:

The alternator used on your application will more than likely mount differently.

Joe Mott says:

Is this the same for 1999 S-10 2.2 L engine?

EerieEstate says:

Fantastic video. Clear and exactly what I needed to tackle the Alternator and belt replacement on my vehicle. Thanks!

Michael Cline says:

I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, a mechanic. I watched the video and was able to change out my alternator and serpetine belt in very little time. I saved a ton of money, since I knew the repair shop was trying to take me to the bank.

YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!

1aauto says:

we’ll keep this request in mind during any future repairs to this particular vehicle that we may do in the future.

ballsdeepreefer says:

can you guys do a video for the starter?

Gbridges1000 says:

THANK YOU!!!!

1aauto says:

It may be a similar process. Most alternators only have 2-3 bolts that hold them in place.

dgmunch says:

This may be an obvious question but this should be the same process if I have a 2.2L, correct?

1aauto says:

No problem at all. Have a great day!

AWESOME VID THANKS

BobMobber says:

Hey! Thanks a bunch. This made my Blazer alternator go very smoothly. The part about the belt tensioner really helped make dealing with the belt simple.

We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows you how to change the starter on a 1999 Chevy Blazer. We’ll keep this request in mind in the event that we make this repair in the future. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Sosa Yoola says:

could you do a video on changing the starter in a 1999 blazer

1aauto says:

It should be fairly similar. We carry new alternators on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Jordan Br says:

hey iam wondering if this process is just about the same for a 1995 s10? thanks 🙂

Joe Fick says:

Thanks for checking out our auto repair videos. We carry BRAND NEW alternators on our website with no core charge. Sometimes when you buy a rebuilt alternator you may got through 2-3 before you receive a decent one. Our new units are fairly close to the price of the rebuilts. Here’s a link to them on our site if anyone would like to check them out. 1aauto.com/1A/alternator/Chevy/S10-Blazer?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=youtube&utm_campaign=1ATony

Ashlysbabyboi says:

the alternator is expensive as you want it to be. you can go to a junk yard buy one $30-50 depends on where and if you pull it or they pull it… or advanceautoparts in my neck of the woods they want $90-100 for it but it has a $30 core charge but they know me so well i can get the part and then return the old one later. but 1Aauto is helpfull… there videos help me in getting tools together for workshop..

1aauto says:

You may want to check your alternator gauge inside of the car to see if the alternator is charging correctly. You should be able to pull the tensioner up to remove the belt. It you can’t the belt may be to short.

macdeezy2915 says:

While driving, the lights dim on the vehicle when braking. I checked the batt. its putting 12v reference, so would that indicate a faulty alternator. I believe the bearings are gone because after checking all the pulleys, which are fine, it was the only thing left I couldn’t check.

1aauto says:

You could have your alternator tested to see if it’s putting out the right voltage. If you end up needing a new one for your vehicle we sell new ones on our site. These are NEW not rebuilt, with NO core charges and free shipping. Hope this helps you out. Here’s a link to them on our website. 1aauto.com/1A/alternator/Chevy/S10-Blazer/1AEAL00023

dragonpoopoo94 says:

Hey guys. Quick question. My voltmeter in my jimmy goes low when I accelerate above 2,000 rpm, and now it stays at 9v, no matter what I do. I thought it was a.worn belt but now I’m not sure. What do you guys think?

1aauto says:

It should be around 105 amps

Mark Brest says:

how many amps is the stock alternator? thanks

1aauto says:

It may be similar to the 98-00. We carry alternators for many different vehicles that are brand new. If you would like pricing for and alternator for your truck, you could call our toll free number 888-844-3393

supersanchez1991 says:

Serenity Forge says:

Thanks so much for this video. I had no idea how to replace my alternator and the instruction manuals didn’t help at all. Took me a couple hours but everything turned out working at the end thanks to this video. Saved me 150 bucks and now my car works again.
