please help! i have a 07 trailblazer which suddenly makes whining gear
drive like noise in auto or 4 wheel drive. faster you go louder it gets .
2wd everything is fine. someone suggested transfer case oil is low but my
truck does not appear to leak. i need real advice its def not a idler
pulley like my idiots suggested to me my boyfriend changed all that and
assured me its my transfer case ?
I replaced my actuator and when i did i added some grease to the hole it
goes in
could to much grease be causing the actuator not to return to 2wd?
This video shows you how to replace the actuator. Was it a different year
that you were looking for?
Any video for replacing the 4WD Actuator Housing that you sell?
There might be a small gasket on the actuator that has worn. 1aauto.com

any idea why oil would be leaking from where the actuator goes into the
disconnect? is there a gasket there or is it just a worn actuator? and what
kind of oil is in the disconnect? transmission or motor? it seems i have to
change the gasket for the disconnect as well as there is a small leak there
as well.
Thanks… What type of code scanner would I need or would that be a dealer
only thing…
If you follow the video you shouldn’t have any issues with making the
repair yourself.
You think that is why my 4 by 4 is not working on my trailblazer… Because
it makes the sound that switches to 4 by 4 but the front whilst don’t work
Thanks. I found my answer. The 4×4 actuator on this particular vehicle is
located inside the transfer case, hence the $555.00. Apparently I was
following the (my) wrong direction ordering this part. Appreciate all the
videos you put out!
The issue could be the actuator but your best bet would be to bring it to
someone that can read the 4WD trouble code that keeps appearing.
You may want to check the power going to the blower motor to see if it’s
working.
We currently do not have a video specific to the axle. Here’s a front hub
video though, that will give you a good idea on how to get to it. Hope this
helps you out. youtube.com/watch?v=yZ13Qet234c&feature=plcp
i replaced the actuator a few days ago n the lighthasnt came back on
hopefully that was the problem thanks again ur videos have been very
helpful…
Sorry the wheels
The scanner would have to be a Tech2 bases scanner which normally runs on
the cheap end for $1000 and the top end which is $10k. Most likely you will
have a hard time finding someone with the correct scanner outside of the
dealership.
cool, mike
You may want to join a message board for your vehicle to see if anyone else
with your particular year vehicle has ran into the same issue, and what
they did to resolve it.
You may want to inspece the front differential and also the front axles, to
see if anything needs to be replaced.
It may be.
hey man i have a question i have an 03 trailblazer i replaced the actuator
(thx by the way i learned by watching this video) anyways when i put it in
a4wd hi or low you can hear the actuator working but the front wheels dont
spin and every once in awhile you’ll hear a clunk sound when i engage the
4wd any ideas on what it can be ??? thx in advance …
@Redlinesixtynine You’re welcome. Thank you for checking out our auto
repair videos. At the current time we do not have a video on that
particular repair.
It may be the actuator. You may also want to check any electrical
connections or vacuum lines associated with the system.
You would want to check for leaks as well as test all of the actuators out
to see if they are functioning correctly with 12 volts.
Dealer told me I needed the front fork actuator and when I went to look it
doesn’t exist. I can see that what is there looks as though it is a
universal part that was machined for a fork actuator, but just nothing
there… any ideas??? It is a 4.2 Buick Ranier CXL AWD
You’re welcome, have a great day. 1aauto.com
My 2004 Trailblazer won’t come out of 4LO, would this be the front
actuator?? It won’t shift into any other mode 4AWD, 4HI, or 2HI.
Again. I appreciate these Envoy vids as they are a great help to those of
us repairing them. What about that heavy bearing on the side of the oil
pan, that the front axle runs through. (it sits beside this actuator). Do
you have a video of that repair/replacement ? Thanks.
my 02 ls trailblazer is showing a service 4wd light on the dash after 5-10
miles driving. when i start up the trailblazer u can hear the actuator
moving u think this migjt me the problem… also the light doesnt come on
when 4awd or 4wd is on only when running on 2hi
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. I used your brake
tutorials and they made the job super easy. My question is do you have a CV
axle DIY video? When I did the front driver side brake there was CV grease
spattered all over the frame. I didn’t check the condition of the boot
because I didn’t want to risk getting the grease near the brake components
so I don’t know if I need to repack it, or replace it. Thanks again!
my trailblazer lt ext 02 rear blower is not working… its not work with
main controls also rear controls on heat/ac.. front blower and ac are works
perfect.. someone ask me to change the Actuator to slove the problem..? any
suggestion ?
do you know what i should be looking for when i check them
