[HOW TO ] Install & Modify Dual Exhaust Catch Can – 2014 GMC Sierra

After talking with an catch can industry expert and inquiring about the benefits of a catch can with two outputs, they suggested adding a secondary output to my catch can to help with evacuation suction when accelerating and WOT when no intake manifold pressure is present. They were nice enough to send me the parts, and I did the work myself in my garage. Basically, giving another clean vent for the motor and the can for those instances where you are pedal to the metal. The 2nd outlet helps to maintain a vacuum so that the blow by continues to filter through the catch can, therefore catching more oil and contaminates.

And just for reference, the brand of catch can that I currently have is no longer on the market. If you want a quality made catch can and cleanside separator kit, look up Elite Engineering. They make a quality product, made in the USA. For Direct Injection motors, use the E2-X catch can by Elite Engineering..

WASTE OF MY FUCKING TIME

jewllake says:

so this secondary evacuation port only comes into play at WOT? At WOT you no longer have manifold vacuum and because of this for that short amount of time it is like NOT having a catch can? So I guess if you are not always going WOT it is not too important? Thanks!

Maximiliano Espinosa says:

Do you think it’s possible to do this with the elite engineering E2 catch can?

winterlounge says:

So instead of a separate catch can for the clean side separator you just plumb to the one you already had?

k max says:

It's highly advisable to maintain the same inside hose diameter as what your stock hose is. If it's 3/4 inch ID stock hose, keep that ID on the new hose. Restricting breather hoses or vaccum hoses can be a bad thing if one chokes it down. Also, if it's a new PCV hose, make sure it's specifically designed for the vacuum created or the hose will collapse under vacuum. PCV hoses won't collapse. Fuel line hose isn't suitable for PCV applications.

Will this void your warranty? What about the airside tube? Does that void your warranty? Thanks for all the Vids really enjoy them, very well done vids.

I have the same intake and plan on getting a dual catch can. I would like to know the size/type of npt tap and where you purchased it; also where you got the plastic fitting and one way valves

Thanks so much for this video. Very helpful… Had seen your previous one and recently purchased the Monster Rx can, with dual outlets and clean side separator, and was wondering where the second outlet filling went… I purchased kit from RX Performance Products LLC by contacting them via email at rxproducts@aol.com The catch can and kit quality are top notch and they have been very helpful explaining the install to me including linking this video. Can't wait to get a free weekend to get this installed in my 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3L Ecotech3.

Excellent job!! Great understanding of how this works as well. Also want to note speedworks is NOT affiliated w/the original RX. They are selling cheap china made knockoffs!! So beware! RX can be contacted direct: RXProducts@aol.com for tech support, etc.
