[HOW TO] Install Cleanside Separator Kit on a 2014+ GMC Sierra (Easy)

[HOW TO] Install Cleanside Separator Kit on a 2014+ GMC Sierra (Easy)

UPDATE: The brand of catch can and cleanside separator that I currently have is no longer on the market. If you want a quality made catch can and cleanside separator kit, look up Elite Engineering. They make a quality product, made in the USA. For Direct Injection motors, use the E2-X catch can by Elite Engineering.

This video shows how to install an Rev Extreme Cleanside Separator kit on a 2014 GMC Sierra 5.3L V8. This will be similar on a 4.3L V6 or 6.2L V8. This process will also be the same on 2014+ Chevy Silverado’s.

My 2014 4.3 liter engine only has a port on the passenger side valve cover nothing on drivers side at all.. would it be possible to just cap the passenger side fitting off and install the clean side separator? I just have the addw1 catch can as of now but noticed oil in my stock intake. Why is it important to link the two valve cover fittings together??

jewllake says:

when you plumbed in the third output hose from your catch can into this AIRAID tube did you drill a third hole in it or did you use the top hole that you caped off? My set up is the same with the elite catch can with the two exit ports; I just have the third one caped off with a set screw until I decide if i choose to use it or not.

jewllake says:

where can i get that 90* nipple with the 3/8 size barb fitting that will screw into the airaid intake?

James Horrocks says:

These cleanside separators are dumb. They dont do a good job of performing the job they claim. They actually make it worse. A dirty side oil separator is a valuable add.

Gus Perez says:

Another quick question, does anybody know if this passes California emissions? (Smog Checks)

Gus Perez says:

Links to all these goodies….. please

KEith JOnes says:

It's a stainless steel scrubber like u use to scrub pots and pans like on the old days . I'm from the old school… the oil drain holes in the cylinder head to to the oil pan. So would u not get vapor from the oil pan venting to the cylinder heads via the oil drain holes? Especially with a vacuum from the air intake tube?

Brett Cimbora says:

I really needed this! Could you list the specific items I'll need to do this?

Osteen Bob says:

will this vold my warranty

Allan Blocker says:

can you do a video on how to clean the cleanside separator kit?

Good install!!

Excellent video as well. GDI engines need a unique system such as this. This may have been from Jeg's that still has stock of the original units.

So all know, RX does not have a website currently, and there are 2 guys having cheap knock-offs made in China they are selling out of their home. They are Speedworks, and are NOT affiliated in any way with the company that designed these. The OP of this video has the original genuine system it appears. They are pressed together and show extreme auto products under the logo. (sorry for any confusion)

The new GDI engines should use the dual checkvalve E2-X systems with the billet cleanside separator.

Elite Engineering have the latest design in these systems and all are 3 piece billet units as well.

The original RX Performance Products, LLC is the designer of all of this and if you need to contact directly, we are at: RXProducts@aol.com

Anyone with tech questions, can email us direct or Elite Engineering as well at: Tech@EliteengineeringUSA.com

Thanks! and great video!!!!

I was gonna install my MIT within the next couple of days now I'm gonna collect the extra parts u have in this video in order avoid the same issues u incurred… Appreciate the help

C.edwards Lauderdale says:

Fantastic, are you using an oiled or dry filter?

C.edwards Lauderdale says:

I may sound like an idiot… But how long do you let the engine run with that end result configuration there were no sensors connected would that throw off the check engine light??
