Yea, Its extra thick double sided tape, Its a foam block. My rigged job kinda restore it. Yea, if its not taped, the bezel will fall out
The two sided foam tape is actually factory! Its on there to help hold it firmly to the end-gate!
Naww. That will look like something your co workers will do at the facility you work at.

I had the number to the yellow plastic piece I used, but i lost it! any GM door lock rod for the same era truck will work on the gate. On ebay some clown wants 15 bucks or maybe more for two clips.
