Come along with Eric O. here at the SMA Shop as we swap out this re-man transmission that only lasted 1 day after we installed it! This is a 2005 Chevy Silverado with a 5.3 and it is two wheel drive.
We do run into a little snag though in the end… -Enjoy!

So wish I had a lift. I've removed the trans in my suburban 3 times while on custom blocks in my driveway. The fun part is when you go to install the bolts for the torque converter and when you get to the 3rd bolt, the threads are missing from the nut welded to the torque converter. Trying to run a tap through it while laying on your back is not easy.

Before watching this video my thoughts are why Precision Transmission in Texas does not offer carryout transmissions. The installation is that important. Seeing that SMA did this I trust that the failure was internal but not guaranteed.
