Jim I had my mechanic do the same thing and now I am getting two new codes this is simply crazy my mechanic cannot figure it out took him 10 months and he still does not know what is going on tired of trying
I have installed all new parts and now the check engine light is still giving the same codes and two more codes that relate to the breaking system some code about the speed sensor in the brakes do you know how to fix that or what it means?
Crossing fingers.. found the fuse. Thanks.
Thank you
Mark. I replaced the entire Secondary Air Injection System and fuses on my 2000 chevy s10. You name it an I replaced it, pump, gasket, solenoid, valves, hoses, wiring, etc. I’m still getting code P0410. I had my mechanic look at it, thought maybe I did something wrong. He can’t figure out what the problem is. Any thoughts?
Chances are your pump and valves would need to be replaced as there is a “common” issue on these vehicles that allows condensation to build and corrode the valves and pump. Mine is still on and the vehicle runs fine. Good luck!
I am going to check my fuse in the morning thank you for this video my mechanic has had my vehicle on and off for 8 months leaving me stranded in Texas with no way home it gets worse every time I take it to him he says he need to trouble shoot the codes how long does it take to check the fuse duh?
will you be replacing the check valves and the hose assembly along with the pump?
It was good for about 10 days. I suspect the fuse is blown again. I’ll probably have to reppace the pump. I have fuel tank out of it now, waiting for a fuel pump.
So Mark did the fuse replacement do the trick or is your blazer still putting out the PO410 code?
This is a POS system, I would like to get rid of it, is the anyway that you can delete this system?
I guess it’s still working…
Alright I’m gonna get a fuse to clear the code out then… Thanks!
According toi some folks in a forum the Haynes Repair Manual says, “The secondary air injection system is used to reduce tailpipe emissions on INITIAL ENGINE START-UP. …..The air injection pump is controlled by the PCM (engine computer) through the AIR relay.” So, once the engine warms up, the AIR pump isn’t used.
how serious do you think this problem is?
