Got the 8L90 2017 Sierra. Pan changed the trans fluid with the new recommended Mobil 1 blue label fluid. While doing that I changed the filter, temperature sensors, and installed the superior solutions thermostat you talk about. Once I did all that it shifts so much better. Every once in a blue moon I’ll get a little shutter out of it. Where in first gear engine revs up but don’t move. Then all of a sudden grabs. Used to happen all the time now not often at all. I would recommend doing all that if you have these transmission.
I had my transmission replaced back in January of 2024covered under warranty for my 2010 GMC Sierra at 117.7k miles and I still love my truck but my frame is starting to rot out. And Iooking for a 14-18 Silverado and Sierra.
It’s not 2018….. it’s probably 2013-2023+…… it’s the torque converter that’s querring the transmission. Look at a plug in for the shifting
My 2014 Silverado's transmission went out at 219,000 cost 5,700 for a new one installed.
