Just a quick video showing how easy it is to change the cabin air filter in a 2016 GMC Sierra. Save yourself some money and change the cabin air filter yourself. This is also called a pollen filter. This would be the same or very similar process for a Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Yukon, Chevy Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban and many more GM vehicles. Most manufacturers recommend that these cabin air filters be changed about every 15,000 miles. As you can see, this one probably had never been changed.
Please note that before installing the new filter, you need to clean the housing very well. If any debris is left in there, it will get into the blower fan and will cause it to be unbalanced and very noisy.

Tools needed:
T15 Torx bit or driver

No offense to the owner, but that’s borderline neglect of a vehicle right there. Great video showing how to clean up the mess.
