Hi Jeff,
Yep.
Audio is much better than before.
You forgot to mention ESD damage like I went through.
In my area you can buy used clusters but they'll set you back 100-150 with no warranty but most yards are either repairing themselves or sending them out.

Jay jay says:

Hi Jeff, how do i contact you for a repair?

Larry Anderson says:

Jeff, I have a 2003 Chevy Tahoe and the instrument cluster 12vdc lamps are all blow/open, all eleven (11) of them. I checked the 10-amp fuses (including IPC/DIC) and could not find any fuses blown! Then, I replaced all 11-lamps, careful to make good removal and re-solder lamp lead connections…..no bad pads! I used EiKC2182 lamps with long leads. With old lamps out, they all were confirmed open and discarded. Even though I tested the first lamp in place in the vehicle, I did not have the 12vdc lamps illuminated. So, after completed repair and reinstall the cluster, I still don't have the 12vdc lamps working, yet the 5vdcred LEDS and alpha-numberic display all works normally. What am I missing? Advanced Nutrition Inc says:

Your hand work on a scale this small is very good! The end product is excellent and should be reliable for years to come! Liked!!

Anthony Terry says:

Can I send you a cluster to rebuild?

Paul Proudfoot says:

A real pleasure to watch someone who knows what he's doing.

John Pilgrim says:

Much easier to do it right and make a jumper wire than to blob on tons of solder and hope it works. The cheap irons with a bulb on them you can get for ~$15 on Amazon work pretty good in this situation. I’m amazed at how much of a mess of things people can make out of simple jobs like these motors.

ChayD says:

wow, those repair attempts, what did they do? 100W solder gun, plumbing solder, no flux and "yup, that'll do 'er"
Incidentally, get hold of some kynar coated wire, it's very fine, silver plated, comes in different colors and much easier for rework (although you do have to strip the ends)

Jeffery Bagley says:

Hey my gm cluster is in need of a toon up can you repair for me

MN car/truck diy says:

On a full rebuild of an 05 Silverado cluster, is that new lights, stepper motors, and any other issues? My stepper motors seem to be fine but my shift indicator isn't light up bright enough to see during daylight. At night I can see it. Also have some back lights out.

Mopar Nut says:

I tried doing it myself and failed… otherwise known as a "Cluster F#$k" 🙂

Ray Nyhus says:

What would it cost to fix the PRNDL display? Mine goes out intermittently and on bumps.
Thanks for the good info. Whats good contact info

David McCrary says:

All looks good. You showed up on my front page for some reason and enjoyed the videos. I would grease that chair a little bit. Only thing annoying I saw.

MrShankmiester says:

You do awesome work

Dick Fitzinya says:

I find your videos fascinating. Why did you have to do all the jumpers if only the speedometer didn't work? What would happen if you didn't use the alcohol after you do the soldering?

Samuel James says:

Nice to see someone that really knows what they're doing, subbed

You Lie says:

Enjoy your channel, thanks so much but I warn you, first time you claim you're repairing a dash cluster for a UFO that crashed in your backyard, I'm outta here !!

Moises Haros says:

how much you charge me to do mine 03 chevy avalanche?

Josh Gray says:

Hey Jeff I have a question my gauge cluster worked fine the gear selection display work odometer display work all the needles worked and then one day I tilted my steering wheel and now I get nothing but my gauge cluster lights still work my blinkers still work on the gauge cluster and when you start the vehicle the check engine light shows on for about 5 Seconds like usual so I was told I needed a new gauge cluster I replace the gauge cluster and the same problem is still there so then I was told that maybe it's the needles so I had all the needles replaced put it in same problem still not working nothing not even a needle jumping when you turn the key on so I have to gauge clusters that test it out absolutely fine but once I plug them into the car I'm getting nothing one day last week out of nowhere turn my high beams on and all my gauges worked shut the car off when to restart it and Bam again nothing works so my question is could it be wiring in the ignition column itself or is it a fuse relay that I need to be concerned about or looking for any help would be greatly appreciated thank you and I love your videos I'm thinking of sending my cluster out I want the clear needles with the white LED lights and I've seen you do them they look beautiful on the Escalade cluster how much would you charge to do just the lights and V needles thank you

Hi Jeff,
My grandson has a 2001 Silverado, the gas gauge works some times, and battery light comes and goes.

Hi Jeff. I have 2 (1 orig & 1 used) volvo 2003 s40 clusters. the speedo stopped working on the original one, however it works on the “used” one. Would you be able to replace the “non” working one on my orig and replace it with the “used’ working one? They are the exact same setup. Thanks.

Bret says:

I enjoy learning. Don’t ever plan on doing what you do or even dabbling with this kind of work. But I really enjoy watching professionals work. Can you explain how your tools work and the various materials you use as you work sometime? What are you doing with the clear liquid and tool brush. Etc.

Jason Brooks says:

Yup. Audio good.. can hear you spit now.. lol.. and accent.. cheap tools are the enemy. Ungovernable temperatures are a disaster to a board. You sure use UV glue for mounting. Stuff is great for forming plastic or mounting bodge jumpers. It’s what is used to mount lcd and oled displays to touch screen glass.

George Burns says:

Great close-up views of your work.

Billy Henderson says:

Could you roll back the Miles

Mary Burk says:

How do I get in contact to have you repair my 2003 Avalanche panel?

Alexander Borsi says:

The part where he fixes the speedo part (why everyone is probably here) is at 11:20
