In Canada Ls Head Gaskets https://amzn.to/33KBJVk
If you are planning on doing head gaskets in your Ls motor there is a couple things you must know. The head bolts are torque to yield meaning they can only be used once. There is 2 different styles of head bolts one set with 2 shorter bolts and the other with all the same length. You must also get proper head gaskets if your heads have the notch or not. if there is any doubt you should get your heads resurfaced especially if there were overheated.

Ok, so I'm doing a Cam only swap on my 2005 Hummer H2. The Hummer only has 58k miles on it. I know, very low for the year. Anyway, the heads are 317 and it came, from factory, with regular head gasket part number 12589227. However, my heads appear to have that notch. My Heads also came with ALL long bolts. Very weird, because I would have thought it came with the gasket that has that notch and also the two shorter bolts at the ends. Anyway, as practice, replace parts that came off the original truck, so that is what I am going to do. Even though it has that notch in the head.
Hey I have a 1999 LS1 and I was wondering are those good head gaskets
I feel like he wants someone to notice his big hands…
Thanks for the vid!
Nice video man
Don't you have to redo the timing too?
Those look like 706 heads
I just purchase the Mahle 54441 cylinder head gaskets. Does it matter which is R or L?
Will this work for a 2005 Chevy Tahoe with the 5.3 and can you send me a link for torque specs?
Is it bad if my head gaskets were all metal?
After seeing what the idiots did with the head gaskets and no water pump gasket. I'd be worried about the bottom end and main bearings.
Snap On no longer makes this torque gauge?
Getting closer Jerry.
My father told me when I was a youngster working on my first car, "tighten them down as tight as you can, then give them another quarter turn."
I guess he was kind of right… lol
Excellent tutorial.
