Wondering, did this kill your fuel milage?
I have a ’73 Nova with the original 350 in it, and it gets god awful fuel
economy. I’m really bouncing around the idea of swapping a 5.3L in, as
they’re cheap and easy to find in salvage yards, but never did I think of
putting a carb on it. If it still get’s good fuel milage, I might do
something similar.
Want to put one in my Buick lesabre (5.0 L Olds) now. Do you see Any
foreseen problems?
How much would you charge me
Just curious how come the carb and not injection
Is there some special way the radiator is ran..I have my bbc radiator I was
gonna use will that work also ..why is the thermostat at the bottom now ?
I don’t know why you would waste your time doing an LS swap if your not
going to leave the injection on.
The cross over coolant hose between the heads..where did you run it? Is
that the “steam line” you mentioned? And what rear end gear ratio are you
running w the 4 speed?
Great info, thanks for the video!! I’ll be referring back to it quiet a
bit, about todo this swap for my cousin’s ’87 Monte Carlo.
Can anyone tell me what motor mount should be used with 5.3 in a 1981
cutlass suprem ?
Did you absolutely have to run a good scoop because of the carb set up?
Also, where did you order up your intake from? I have a pace performance
catalog that has a kit with and intake and 6ls box all in one kit in it,
but I would really like to explore some different intake options before I
lay down 800 bucks for the kit.
what kind of intake would I need to do this to my car. I have a 89 impala
and im swapping to a lt1
question about the pcv breather, could i do this in my 09 chevy silverado
5.3l? right now it runs into my intake tube and oils up my throttle body..
Hey I just swapped my car to an lsx and I’m having trouble with the alt
charging the battery. I switched to a one wire from a two wire and neither
wire from the old alt will charge the battery. Any advice? Thanks in
advance and great videos their very helpful.
Do I still have to run a computer, and what does the cam censor connect
too.
Hello there sir, I have my eyes set on a clean near immaculate 77 Malibu.
Motor is no good and I had this wild idea of also going for a 5.3 out of a
side wrecked 2001 suburban, glad I stumbled on your video. Any tips (keep
it EFI, keep the tranny “can I use it”, keep the engine stock or add a few
things while it is out) I will have probably a $900 to a $1500 budget
incase i need to add anything extra major. I am saving on the car as well
as the wrecked suburban. Thanks. p.s. I am not looking to make it a
hotrod but I would like to get at least 285 HP out of it once swapped.
Why did you go with a carb?
What’s the part number on the edelbrock intake manifold??
hey bro i have been having trouble with the oi pressure switch step
adapter. would you happen to have the part number for the one you ran on
your car? thanks for the help
If I throw a ls1 in a car do I have to change the tranny or rear end, or
its just like dropping a regular motor in, just hook up and go.
I’ve been playing around with the thought of throwing an LS in my 79 Trans
Am but it seems fairly complicated and expensive. I’m already putting a lit
of money into building up my Pontiac 6.6L so the LS might be out of the
question. What do you think?
Can I buy the plug for the alternator ..
nice cutty, why carb though?
nice work. can i do it in my 1993 yukon gt and how much coast .
i find senali 2004 engine by 1300usd
Good job bro! Great budget build. Looking into doing a 6.0 swap soon and
you just assured me that I’m going carbureted. Fuel injection is just out
my range at this time.
How do you make the transmission work with a newer ls1 motor?
So how does it run? Will you ever go injected? MPG?
