i went on ebay and picked up a remote for $25.00 and switched the rubber pad and battery it worked great. thanks

murtadha alrubeay says:

thanks alote

StickyCreations says:

Thanks for watching. I’m sure GM knows about this issue, but instead of selling just the rubber pad the dealer wants to sell you a new remote.

DMACKD mcdavid says:

Hey thanks for the video it was absolutely great. I have the same problem with both if my GM remotes. Neither one if them will unlock the doors and I refuse to pay $100 bucks for a freaking remote. .Once again thanks

StickyCreations says:

Yes, I have also had the solder break at the joints of the battery clip. I’ve had to add more solder to a few of these.

gendave1000 says:

check the solder joints for the battery clip. they will crack and make your fob imtermittant.

bck107 says:

14min is a little long for this, you could probably condense it to a minute or two..

StickyCreations says:

WOW, you cleaned it all by yourself, that’s fantastic. Not all remotes have the same problem and this may or may not work for everyone. Yes sometimes just cleaning the inside is all you need to do. But on some remotes the metallic contacts on the rubber buttons wear out, so just cleaning it with alcohol will not work.

mrgitarman says:

before I watched this, I cleaned my remote myself with no instruction. I took it apart, got some alcohol on a paper towel and wiped the battery, contact area for it, also the back of the circuit board and scraped the inside of the metal holder for the battery. Put it back together and works like new again. Did not use any contact grease or glue.

John Oswin says:

I am becoming increasingly aware that there are very few things that cannot be accomplished with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. Lol
But seriously, this works.

StickyCreations says:

Sounds good, glad it helped.

PCPELLE says:

I have been using the aluminum foil for a while now, and every time the solder on the remote breaks *sigh* i just remove the old foil and replace it with new stuff, but this video helped me a lot thank you :)

efire420 says:

Much thanks. Dealer wanted $125. $20 for supper glue and defogger kit. The rest went into the beer fund.

StickyCreations says:

Yes you can, but this video was made before aluminum foil was invented. You can use foil, the problem with this is that certain types of glue don’t adhere very well to aluminum foil. The foil can become loose inside and can activate the remote when you are not pressing the button.

StickyCreations says:

What part didn’t work? Maybe I can help?

StickyCreations says:

Hi Chango!

Diva4Arts says:

it didnt work for me

karruni2001 says:
