Thank you JC316 for the very informative video, I am going to do this. My
1997 Z71 leaks antifreeze and I think this is why. I bet your video saved
me hundreds of dollars in labor cost!!
Thanks for making the video!.. In the process of doing mine now..really
helps to see it done first.. Only thing I’ll be doing different is drinking
a few beers along the way!
Will the intake make a ticking noise if its leaking antifreeze???
I never did touch the A/C, power steering pump bracket. I just used a die
grinder with a bit for aluminium, and made a notch to allow the drivers
side front intake manifold bolt to be totally removed.
Yeah, I posted that in the details. I showed that for people looking for
info on how to get at the spider.
No need to take apart upper manifold and risk harming spider to injectors.
Skip that part!
The most helpful part was with regard to the A/C – no need to decompress
the system and lose freon – plus finding all the bolts on the bracket.
Thanks a bunch!
The hidden A/C bracket bolts are shown at 24:30 on the video. 15 and 14 mm.
This video was very helpful!
I once cut one off with a die grinder. Ruined the hose but I won!! LOL
happy wrenching my friend and great video. You did a good job elaborating
on each issue.
nice job and holding a camera even.. thank you for this, it will be my
guide doing this job on my truck
I am glad I am not the only one who gets his ass kicked by those stupid
clamps!!
You can get by with leaving the altenator in place and only removing the
passenger side valve cover, also from doing this way to many times I have
personally found it easier to remove the upper and lower intake as one unit
and split them on the bench
Nice
Oh yeah, those things are the bane of my existence. In the past, I have
actually had to cut them with a dremel thanks to the location.
