Well as an installer myself I watched this video and it does not have a lot
of info you need to do a complete system. Also DON’T ever run the power on
the same side as the other 2 wires. that can cause a fire.

how did you hook your rca’s and remote wire to the stock radio?
would it be easier to ck resistance to ground (battery) then compare it
against where u want to ground the amp? just confused why u need a piece of
scrap wire

I paid a local shop to install a 700watt LA2000md. Powering Rockford p2d2
12″ two of them. I use to have alpine type R same basic watts as new
stereo. Problem im having is the new amp/subs don’t seem to be pushing
booming like the old ones. They seemed to have put in a shitty ground from
what I can see. BASICALLY SOME BRACE FOR MY BACK SEAT(Honda accord 06)
TYPE R ripped my car apart with bass. Rockfords installed at shop don’t
even shake the mirrors. Wtf?
When you ran the speaker wire to the subwoofer from the amp what did you
use to secure it and make it look neat?

I’d get a JL Audio HD series amp or Alpine PDX amp. For a sub if you really
like clean bass look into a JL Audio W6.
Both are rated at 600 watts RMS so you are matched just right.
Ya they’re wired internally and there’s only one speaker connection on the
box. I did the install like 3 years ago, I’m guessing one sub was dead
cause it was thumping bass, and if it were out of phase it wouldn’t make
any sound.
ummm i never recommend that you mount the amplifier to the sub box. the
vibrations can be harmful to the amplifier…
I’ve installed amplifiers on the enclosures, on the back of seats, amps
racks in the truck etc. The amp is going to be subjected to vibration from
the sub anywhere in the trunk. Manufacturers like Alpine and Kicker produce
enclosures with amplifiers built into the enclosures.

I think I’ll amplify just the 2 speakers and a sub. So each front speaker
needs its own channel and the sub needs its own channel? then 3 sets of
rcas to the amp?
Hey, I’ve learnt a lot from your vids but still need a little
clarification. I have some separate 2-way pioneer component speakers and I
want to connect them with a sub and an amp. What kind of amp should I be
after? for example 2 way/4 way and do I want to match the watts of the amp
to the watts of the speakers plus the sub? Thanks

question they might get future business which in turn helps grow the

music over it) but thats why i thought it was out of phase.

Oh I had to overlay music over it because I was originally playing
copyrighted music when I was testing the system.

helpful, I tried to ask a guy at the audioshop and he basically said he
wouldnt help me unless I planned on buying the sub/amp from their store.

The front speakers will get their own channel, the rears you would combine
the 2 channels to drive the sub. Then you can run the rear speakers off the
deck just for some fill.

Hey man, what amp/sub combo would you recommend for an audiophile who
really likes quality? I dont want that rattly mile away bass but I want to
be able to really feel like I’m in the music. I’m going for a 12″ sub, I
already got a sealed enclosure. I bought an amp and a sub on amazon but
apparently I failed at matching them so I’m gonna return them. Could you
give me any recommendations?

You can buy two separate amps: 1 mono block and a 4 channel. Or 1 4 channel
(fronts on the front channels and rears for the sub) or a 5 channel
(amplify all 4 speakers and a sub).
No it’s a pretty decent set up. What’s the RMS requirements of the Kicker
set up? I know the Pioneer D8500M puts out around 600 Watts RMS with a 2
OHM load. I’d go with one of Stinger’s Elite kits like the SK6241. The only
thing you’ll have to buy are some RCA’s.
