excellent video mowerdog thank you

swasey1952 says:

Thanks for the video been wondering how well the Tru -Tracs work. One thing
concerning automakers, is why don’t they make all 2 wheel drive pickups and
SUV’s come standard with posi. For the ridiculous price they charge and
intended usage it is crazy why they don’t. Use to be about 75.00 dollar
option and nobody hardly ordered it. Most cars are bought off of dealer
lots new and they never have it, the few that do were usually special
ordered.

David Radmanovic says:

Good job brother

Rex Houseo says:

Nice video! The word “Locker” really shouldn’t be anywhere in this though.
Detroit Truetrac NOT THE SAME as Detroit Locker.

BlueBoyyyyyy says:

Good work do you do installs? If so how do I contact you

Bud Watson says:

Thanks you made it look easy. I thought it was something I had to pay to

Thank you for the video walk-through! This explained a lot that I wasn’t
quite following from some forum tutorials I’ve read.

Arlen Morrison says:

Thanks for recording this. I’ve been wanting to put one of these in my ’96
F150 because it gets stuck in my driveway after a good rain.

robert quast says:

for non mechanic you did a great job

alan jones says:

You managed camera work, verbal description, and one handed mechanical work
in an expert fashion. It’s something I’d have difficulty with. Excellent
job. Thanks.

Joshua Mikulec says:

Garet Curry says:

Rather enjoyed this video, great job.

kelkev85 says:

Thank you for posting this, I needed to make sure this was a good
alternative to an arb air locker. I understand the differences but from
what you have shown this is good enough for my needs

Not poo pooing your video.!
I’m a lic. Tech.. And I Work in trhe BC mountains . I drive 100km on snowy
roads most drive 40km.
The reason .4 Studded winter tires. .
In my experience .There’s Good chance, your suburban would make that
hill with studded tires.
I also drill and stud, any tire. with the right tread pattern. When I was
a young Appretice.
I had stud Ice racing and rally tires. Drill and stud 255 studs per
tire/Stud per lug.
Studs are allowed in BC in the winter months. Up to a certain number per
tire. I push that a bit.
I have JUST ! made it up hills ! In 2WD Stop and go traffic . Only
4×4’s or chained vechicle’s on the road and ME.
Studs allowed were you are ??
What do you think of studding your own ?

is in your vehicle

Peter Romvig says:

Nice video, thanks for sharing.

mowerdog says:

You could probably find a cheap beam torque wrench at Harbor Freight,
Cummings or JC Whitney.

Chen Chen says:

Great video and very helpful! I have the same question about the bearing
preload and I saw you mentioned to vettezr1262 that you felt them by hands.
So my understanding is that it does not matter too much as long as the
backlash is good. Am I right? Thanks!

Katelyn Noyes says:

Awesome video! Thanks for taking the time to make & post it.

vettezr1262 says:

I just accidentally hit flag as inappropriate. So if you get notified, it
was an accident haha. But I was going to say that I appreciate the help and
I may take the easy way too..I don’t have an inch lb torque wrench that
would work and ive found it very hard to find one that isn’t really
expensive. So I’ll probably take your route by feel and hope all goes well
haha

carledward1968 says:

Good video man! I have the same set up in my 85 caprice. It has the 7.5
rearend with 3:73 gears. that posi unit it has served me well and is very
tuff.

jason samarin says:

great video, thanks ! 2 thumbs up

mowerdog says:

If by chance you get just one wheel spinning you can tap the brake and then
it will work. But this is rare. I watched lots of rock crawlers with this
diff on youtube and it sold me. I hardly ever seen just one wheel spin.
