Cool! Sorry for the late reply!

jakob2803 says:

Never mind, bending out the tabs worked fine! 🙂

jakob2803 says:

Hey Johny, I’ve watched a lot of your dirtbike videos, but I never noticed this one. Now I have a problem, though. It’s a radio cage similar to yours, but I do not understand how the tabs will hold it in place. The way they are oriented the look like they would only stop the cage from being inserted more, rather than being pulled out.

Johnnysshop says:

Yo may have to fold it in the middle a little and spread it back out once you have it in the kit.

Alex Gustave says:

my cage wont fit into the kit

Johnnysshop says:

Thanks for watching!

Rowe Lee says:

thanks dude i thought that was just a extra peice forgot to clip those

Johnnysshop says:

Not sure how to describe it really. The kit instructions have always worked fine for me.

solou1 says:

how do i put this kit together the instructions dont make sense

Johnnysshop says:

Factory ground is fine.

Johnnysshop says:

Found one where the main harness goes into the car.

Johnnysshop says:

Same way pretty much. You probably have a larger style radio and they make a double din plate for it.

Kurihuton Twohatchett II says:

How can I do this for my 1984 Camaro I-ROC Z28? I never did this before, so I will need some helpful advise before I make a decision and thank you in advance.

Johnnysshop says:

You may have a factory installed amp. If so, it will need to be bypassed. A lot of times they make an adapter to bypass it.

NAVYseal3534 says:

Hey I have a jvc aftermarket stereo and I recently installed it an it turns on but there is no sound nor is there static. But the factory radio works and has sound when it plugged in. I have all wires hooked up right but what’s wrong???

Johnnysshop says:

Hmm. Sounds to me like a bad radio. It could be a weak ground but I doubt it.

TheTyriquerice says:

Thanks and have you ever had a problem with you CD player when you turn the ignition and all it does is turn the motor to eject the disk then just turn off and when you hit the display button and only shows the time ad does turn complete on

Johnnysshop says:

I think anything made after the mid 90’s is the same but I could be wrong. I know the older cars are a bit different but not sure about the latest (last 3 years).

TheTyriquerice says:

Do all gm model cars need that same wiring harness or are the model specific

Johnnysshop says:

Best Buy or Crutchfield I believe.

JDM13HONDA says:

Were did you purchase this kit mount stereo……the black Face

Johnnysshop says:

Just snaps together.

smft0889 says:

how do you put together the kit?!?

Johnnysshop says:

I suppose you can do that. The cage just locks it in.

4200cg says:

what if i installed but did not put the cage…. its cause it was really tight so i just left it out

Johnnysshop says:

I would try Crutchfield (online). They carry the best of them.

E6Scarecrow says:

I just got a 89 tans am with the same radio and main question is where did u buy the adapter because I see one in bestbuy but the wires arent colorful it looks like the left side of ur daughters adapter please help I just got this car for my birthday please respond

Johnnysshop says:

Usually they come with a little set of forks to pop out the radio. You can get a small screwdriver and slide it between the sides of the radio and the cage and try to get it out that way.

helical4 says:

How do you pop-out the stereo from the cage after everything has been installed in the car? I need to remove my heater control unit, and I can’t remove the screws holding it in place until I remove the stereo. I can’t seem to get anything in there to undo those clips locking the stereo unit in place.

Johnnysshop says:

Yeah, eBay should have them. Just type in “car stereo cage”.

kevinsaint20 says:

I recently bought a jvc kd-s37 and after watchin your vid I realized that it doesn’t have that “cage”. Can u buy them somewhere ? If so what would I type in to find them ?
