After making this video I’ve seen that the bearings go bad very often and clunk again. Take a hose clamp and tighten it down on the metal tube above the bearing and it should give you an extra few months. The bearings will continue to go bad with time tho thanks to the gm engineers! Lol
I’m back !! Woot woot !!
dude you need to make more videos of you just hauling ass in that badass truck I may like old fords but a clean duramax that is as badass as yours cant help myself from saying something.
My 04 intermediate steering shaft has been replaced twice. It rattles. I hate it. Supposedly there are rumors that we may be able to drill and tap a zerk fitting to allow greasing of the shaft. If stiffness from lack of grease causes greater stress on the bearing, it makes sense to me that preventing a shaft from locking up (like yours was) could be a decent upgrade. We really need a total redesign because the shaft rattle really does kill ride quality.
What are some things to 100% avoid doing when i pick up a duramax? (I'm talking mods) Got a Chevy 6.0 right now for my work horse (great gasser btw). I plan on getting an LBZ soon to replace it, I just don't wanna pick up a truck and run into a shit load of problems afer tuning it etc. I know you made a vid about your setup and i really digged it, but I'm jw at this point if you've changed your mind about anything. Lmk, save a working man a few bucks.
The best fix is to get rid of government motors crap and buy a Toyota or Ford, let government motors and its sister bankrupt car company go broke again
My 08 lmm doesn't have any clunks whatsoever. Lucky me
I’ve replaced both and it still does it
Just did this on my truck used an air chisel through the wheel well too push the shaft up through the fire wall cuz mine was also seized and my bearing already has a clunk on hot days again. What a garbage design
What’s the mileage on the truck man…
Any idea on how we could apply this onto a newer model truck? 07-13?
How about the another clunk from the drive shaft when u come to a complete stop and take off it clunks how do I fix that 07 classic Silverado
Had this clunking on my last truck and on my current truck so glad to know how to fix it! It always bugs me lol
I really need to do this on mine.
