“You can definitely see we’re pulling vacuum..” ..as the glare obscures the
gauge face.

Trevor Thayer says:

I have a Jetta with the P0455 code ever since I filled up with gas last
week (in NJ so the Exxon guy pumped it). Ever since it has run normal, but
REEKS of gasoline to the point that when you first get in the car, it is
IMPOSSIBLE to breathe. I hold my breath as I open the windows and get
driving in the wind as soon as possible. What does everybody think the
problem is?

Wally Neimantas says:

I have a 2006 mazda 6i 2.4L.

My 2010 gmc acadia’s check engine light came on, and it won’t start right
after pumping gas. What could that problem be?

Nick Miller says:

+AutoEclinic I have a 2003 Jeep Wrangler Chrysler with these codes
and P0442 evaporative system small leak
p0455 evaporative system large leak
is this the same issue that this video describes?

AutoEclinic says:

Thanks for the input! We will use that to improve our format while
maintaining the the entertainment integrity.

AutoEclinic says:

We apologize for the glare. The removal was very simple. It was already
half removed with the electrial connector and one hose removed. All that
was left was to remove the only hose left attaching it. Sorry.

Hello, I have a Buick Regal 1999 LS and got a code P0442 how and where is
that located in my car ?? can you help me thru this ??? Please….

AutoEclinic says:

Not familiar with any device that will do that.

CHIBA280CRV says:

Hey fellows I have a talking box! Ohhhhh!

uawsux says:

evap devices can be checked by sucking on port, checking for blow thru,
leaking diaphram, in cases of leaking seal in solonoid, take it apart and
reverse the little barrel seal, the filler tube rusts, even though powder
coated, it rusts at the bolt which attaches to frame, spray undercoating
will seal this, evap monitor is on when over 40 degrees, over 1/4 tamk, and
under 7/8 full tank, also clean area around gas cap seal, new filler tube
150 bucks,

AutoEclinic says:

Next time you fill up the tank try leaving the fuel cap off. If the purge
valve is stuck open it could continuously suck raw fuel vapors into the
throttle body stalling the engine.

thesamiam19 says:

I only have the code P0445 in my car so hopefully that would be the problem
and if how much would it cost me to replace it my self?

joe smith says:

the only problem is taking the car too these ass holes who overcharge u too
fix engine light and allowing 10 days too fix after inspection ive driven
cars with light on for months so why cant their be a longer extention on
inspection if car fails because light is on where all not rich sometimes
its 600 -900 $ toom fix

smorrow0816 says:

By the way, if I clear the code, it comes back on when the gas tank gets
half empty. Not sure if that matters……

AutoEclinic says:

Yes you do bring a valid point. In our experience the seal is damaged or
hard. And there are those few times where people forget to put their caps
back on.

kiomarv says:

Perhaps you’re thinking of an OBD-CAN II scanning device. It reads check
engine lights, gives actual trouble codes, and clears them if commanded to
do so. Clearing a code with the device, however, doesn’t get rid of the
problem that created the code and the device is attached to a terminal
underneath the dashboard on the passenger or driver side; no such device
attaches to a gas tank.

Charles Forsyth says:

Hi, I have a friend with a 2010 Toyota Corolla and had a Toyota tech tell
her that a rodent had chewed through the “evap hose at fuel tank” and
suggested replacing the entire fuel tank assembly. Does this sound right? I
would think if it is just the hose, then replacing that hose would get rid
of the same P0455 code she has for her car. Thoughts?

Have 2005 Dodge Magnum has engine light that goes on. Took it to dealer and
they said all kinds of things were wrong with it, big estimate to fix. Was
my dad’s car, he passed away, but always had this recurring problem spent
thousands trying to resolve it.. An old Mechanic at the dealership waited
until the Service writer walked away, told me to go home, disconnect he
battery wait an hour then reconnect it and the ligt would be off. That
worked, but what’s REALLY wrong with it?

Victor Hernandez says:

Autoeclinic I have a 05 malibu with the code in the video my car does
stall. Ive checked all the lines on the car everything seems fine. What
could be the problem?

AutoEclinic says:

What is the year, make and model of your vehicle?

smorrow0816 says:

I have an 07 Tahoe with the code P0455. What or is there a difference
between he purge valve, Evap canister, Evap solenoid, vent valve, vent
solenoid? I hear many different things and am a little confused. I did
change the vent valve (if that’s what it’s called) under the car by the gas
tank, but the code keeps coming back on. Thanks for any insight.

AutoEclinic says:

The valve was easy to replace. 2 vacuum lines and an electrical connector.

AutoEclinic says:

Yes. I’m sorry we didn’t follow up with that in the video. The first code
that’s given is the one you want to start with. In most situations when
codes are related the original one once repaired will take care of he
other. This does not happen in every case but for this particular car it
did.

Jay R says:

Hi I read there iis a device to connect to your gas tank to help your clear
a error for the check engine light wHat is this device

AutoEclinic says:

I need a little more information please. Year make model and engine size
please. Thanks Michael.

AutoEclinic says:

P0442 is a small EVAP leak. The best and quickest way to diagnose this is
to have it smoke tested.

denali88 says:

I got p0455 and p0441. Thanks for the first code. I’m assuming the other
one I have is linked to the 0455 as well.

Metalzone says:

Does anyone know what causes P0497 and how do I fix? Please help me out
anyone..

afp75 says:

Umm thanks for this information guys but i have a question how do i replace
the part seeing as i thought that was what this video was about, also when
you showed the pressure gauge the glare from your light source made it
unreadable for your demo purpose.

denali88 says:

…incorrect purge flow.

I have to lose tons of body weight! Maybe you have heard of Killer Kilo

using it and I’m 5kg down. Search yahoo and google for the words Killer
